Um.... there is currently no event scheduled on the XB society. Just an FYI. Seriously, I hope everyone is ok and this is just an oops, oversight. Thank you! Sorry about that guys, our XB admin had a family emergency. The event should be up now, thank you for being patient, we appreciate it.

Finished even this week on my PC. Really trying to play on PC even though I'm way better on PS4, but want to use it as more practice events for PC. Felt like I hit some good shots but so many ways to lose shots on this course. Thanks reebdoog for this!

Tough old course for a par 3 but very nicely done reebdoog. Was chuffed to bits to come in 2 under and that took one hell of an effort and a fair bit of luck. Great fun.

This course - which is a cool par3 btw, I'd expect nothing less from Reeb - makes obvious the flaw in slow green speeds in this game IMO. The physics just don't make sense to me, which is a bummer. I LOVED slower (150ish) speeds in previous games, thought it gave you a way to design greens with more slope but played in a way that felt "right," but whatever they've done to ball roll on medium-ish green speeds in this game is just broken.
That said, complaining doesn't really matter, everyone's got to play them whenever they're up on tour or in a side event like this, it's just a bummer for me to see something I used to enjoy so much feel so broken.

Justin, what flaw are you referring to? I know that I have found at times that the slower greens (150 and below) tend to break more than the faster greens which is completely wrong from real life. Is that what you are referring to or something else?

One other thing I have always wondered but not tested... Do the green textures make a difference?

Is that what you are referring to or something else? This would be my guess, since they do break a lot more than it seems they should.

Sorry. It was an intentional choice based on the idea behind the course. I know it takes some getting used too. :-) You're right though...they break like mad.

Sorry. It was an intentional choice based on the idea behind the course. I know it takes some getting used too. :-) You're right though...they break like mad. No apologies needed, just because I think the mechanic is flawed doesn't mean slower speeds should never be used - I've always liked when a course is designed with a specific "off" speed like this, I just can't wrap my head around how to play them in 2k after being pretty good at it in previous versions.
stubby3596 It's difficult to explain, but I don't believe the physics of roll are correct. As you said, for starters, slower greens shouldn't break more, that's a simple one. This is all opinion of course, but it just feels incredibly unnatural and unrealistic. The break in putts doesn't match speed - play a ton of break with less power, miss low side, ball still rolls waaay past the hole, e.g. - but again, just my "feel" opinion. Part of me thinks I'm just completely missing something that others have figured out, like I'm envisioning the putt in some fundamentally flawed way which leads to an error in judgement and/or execution, or not realizing there's some significant adjustment in aim marker distance that slower speeds require, or something else I haven't even considered yet - I'm grasping at straws with it at this point. Regardless, all the moaning in the world won't change the fact I just need to get better at it.

One thing I did a few weeks ago was to spend about an hour on some very undulating putting greens in the designer and I would tweak the green speeds a fair bit. I would then use the putt preview feature to see how they would break and react versus my actual putting stroke. It helped me a bit with the longer, big breaking putts but still haven't figured it all out yet. Sometimes my thumb just doesn't work the way it is supposed to. How bad is that my real life putting yips are the same in a virtual golf game...

Other than the rock wall in front of the pin in round 2 (which obviously I hit very hard), this was such a fun short course to play. Presented great too - loved it.
