Do I see some low Sweeney scores? Finished -25 with quite a few double bogeys, the best being the 1st of roud 4 after getting stuck in the ditch off the tee. enjoying the learning process tho, putting still needs to improve make some great ones then three putt from 8feet but judging by scores we are all doing that. Great shooting steve -31 is some score round there Glad to see you back Ian!

Unique course yet again. Have no idea why it is criticized. We should want different looking courses every week.

I'm really struggling with the new game to be honest. I think that I ended up at -14 in this event.
I'm not too disappointed with that score considering that I played the entire tournament using the right stick as an experiment. I have always played TGC with the left stick so you can imagine how alien and awkward that would feel.
I can play pretty consistently if I hold the controller near my knees and play hunched over, but I get crippling pain if I play that way as I have some serious back problems. Playing that way (hunched over), the first two rounds that I played were -11 and -8 in my PGA Tour season; but I'm not going to put myself through pain just to try and compete here.
I'll just have to try and figure out a way of swinging it consistently and remaining somewhat comfortable doing so. If I try to play the way that I did in previous games, I cannot get anything like a consistent tempo: hunched over I will get a perfect about 1 out of two swings, sitting in a more relaxed position it's more like one in 6 or 7.
Putting feels better now: I still miss so many that I should make and three and four putt when I don't concentrate - but at least I have got some sort of feel for it. I still think that the new putting is awful, as is the swing; everything just feels rushed and twitchy, and the percentage numbers with the short game in general have nothing to do with real life mathematics.
I might just end up playing for a fast on purpose if it means having some sort of consistent game, it's still early days so there are more techniques to explore.

I think fasts are the only way to. At first I went for perfects & itβs too inconsistent with slows looming. At first I think I was a bit flicky, to get perfects, but worked it out of my swing. Approach shots I go for perfects or a slight fast.
I donβt know why your worried about results immediately. I like the fact I havenβt worked it out yet & if I played like 2019 Iβd be bored quick. Itβs a game, there is method to the madness. You were one of the best at it & if it takes a month or 2 youβll suss it, I donβt doubt it.
I reckon 4 months before I stop fiddling & just pick it up & play...

@blueorfe Have you tried playing with the controller on top of the desk? I swivel in my chair 25-30 degrees Right, with my hands and arms following, while ensuring the left and right handles are both firmly touching the desk, and then I let the natural weight of the controller shift it's angle to around 45 degrees, with my hands as the backstop. And if you're going to play a "fast", in case you weren't aware, the more "draw" you add, the less right you have to aim! Odd right? A 9i with max backspin/angle and no sidespin will require in the ballpark of 10y Right aim, while adding maximum draw lets you aim dead straight. At some point though, the longer hitting clubs dont play well with this. A 3i with max sidespin rolls for days and days. It's sweet spot for maximum stopping power is the Left or Right edge of the grey swing plane (so not much).
Finding the sweet spot for every club requires a balance of desired distances with comfort and ease of use in how far right we aim. Such as, hit my 8i with with no draw at all, allowing for maximum yardage but requiring 12-13y right aim, or, hitting my 8i with a consistent 70% draw (sidespin) on every shot, reducing some shot distance but allowing me to only aim 5-6y right on most shots. With the exception of a few specialty shot distances, I find it best to keep individual clubs at a consistent "sidespin %", otherwise your aim will be all over the place.
Fades can work, but they actually hit the ball a little bit further with equivalent sidespin, plus you still have to aim full distances right! Weird right? So imo "draw sidespin" is best in most cases.
Hope something here is useful!

Crazy talk! My PS4 and PC share a high end gaming monitor (24in is perfect!) with less than 1ms input lag. I can only imagine how much lag and extra tempo problems a larger, TV screen would create.

I know there have been scores in the -40's...BUT that isn't the norm. I'm not consistent, but I'm REALLY appreciating the struggle to be honest. Every good shot, par save, birdie and the occasional eagle feel SOOOO gratifying This past tournament I had many birdies, BUT had several bogies and double bogies. This kept me from being around the -30 mark, which would be great as far as I'm concerned. I think we may see large gaps in the scoring for some time. Brad...it's just going to take time. You'll be shooting low scores before you know it...a lot of us TGC veterans will Ian...NICE to see you playing again See ya'll next week.

First competitive round I've played after just a handful of practice rounds on other courses. Still not much of a clue about how loft and spin affects shots, can't be bothered putting in the work. 6 under on the way out seemed too easy but that was the end score as damn all happened on the back 9. Swing calibration has gone AWOL for whatever reason, requiring gunslinger reflexes to avoid slows. Really not a fan of the putting mechanism either, smacks of something I would expect to see in a low quality phone game.

Some nonsense now about being disqualified for not using master clubs when I definitely used them! Does ANYONE know what's happening in this game??
