It shows you a place to drop the ball, 280 yards from the tee, so nobody in their right mind would re-tee in that scenario... Once you drop it, the game effectively put me into a broken state where any shot I hit then goes into the water, and then freezes in that place because it does not know what to do next.

This happened to me on one course but I actually hit it into a bunker, not water. When I hit the shot from the bunker it did this exact same thing, it said I hit it in the water and was stuck..I was still in the sand, no water even close.

assumed it had too do with water levels, but the bunker example sounds more like the issue is the ball going underneath the ground.
i have had many times where the ball visually looks to be halfway thru the ground(and clubs clipping at address)but only had it happen at water edges so far, both after drops and where it lands.
Even had a fully submerged ball being in play.

The game sure lacks some polish, im surprised there havent been more patches yet as alot seems like easy fixes.
Feels like half of all features outside of gameplay is bugged, commentators,replays,stats,leaderboards,course filters etc
still having fun(more so every day) but if im honest, i would expect an beta of a free to play game to be more polished than this is.

Almost every bunker shot I get the ball is way below the clubface.

twice for me. no option to move ball or declare unplayable

same here 2nd rd of qual 2, 1st hole. in water, redropped played shot and just showed me standing there waiting for shot to finish. no option to declare unplayable or quit hole
