Pretty encouraging post right here as this Top 20 WGR player has yet to break -11 in a four round event on PS4. Those xbox users claiming that it’s still way easier on ps4 won’t know what to say about this one 😂 Not difficult to know what to say. Great job on that score - it's very impressive for sure. Still 20+ shots away from competing with top scores on PS4 though I really REALLY hope it is just my inadequacies and the game is fair. Proof will be after Q-school obviously. The scores you are shooting and the -43 from Tyler...I don't think all of my 50+ rounds so far could add up to that. I should have been about -10 on this tournament if I hadn't take a tin-cup Quad on one hole. I would have been thrilled with that score...and still 33 shots away from Tyler. My main point is it doesn't feel fair so far. But again, I hope I am wrong about that.

Has Beasley commented on the new game? I’d like to hear his thoughts about XBox. He’s on PGA.

Not the right thread but just shot -11 on the Kinetic exhibition in R2. Hole out Eagle @ 2, nearly aced 17 and eagled 18 with two inch perfect shots and a 10 footer.
-15 leading after 2 rounds on PC. PS4 scores on this one?
Seriously, if you're trying for perfects ( ), bin the overswing as a priority

Seriously, if you're tring for perfects ( ), bin the overswing as a priority I finished off that event last night at -18 with a -10 in R2. At the time -26 was leading thru 4 and there was another score at -23 through 3 rounds.

101 / 104 / 105 % My shots are really like this. But I configured the swing this way, I imagined that the game should run ... But it doesn't happen. I have no consistency. I am incredulous. Even more seeing -43 on the scoreboard ... I have the clubs of maximum forgiveness and nothing helps. Without consistency, the game becomes a lottery ... Better to play in career mode. I'm -8 through two, but i'm still using maximum forgiveness clubs (inc Driver) so was basically playing a different golf course to my ghost playing partners as i was constantly 30 yards behind them and hitting longer clubs in. Course is wide open so i'll probably put my super duper gold driver in the bag for the final two rounds tomorrow and see how i go.
Also missed a ton of makeable putts. I'd played Purgatory on 174 speeds just before so overread a lot of them at 144 in R1. I'm getting better but still yank the odd one miles left. Speed is generally ok though.
Yesterday i was struggling to break par and in 4 rounds played today i shot 64,68,67,67 so getting there for sure. Game is a lot of fun as long as you aren't hitting big misses the whole time and can plot your way around. Far more satusfying hitting a good shot.
If i could have two wishes they would be slightly more forgiving short irons and wedges, and less spin around the greens on downslopes and from crappy lies. They've made the long game harder but made it easier to get up and down
Biggest tip i can give anyone struggling is to aim for 97-99% power and avoid the overswing. I wonder if lots of people are swinging it like TGC19, getting regular 101% and thinking "that's ok" but it really messes with your tempo. I've phased it out this evening and hit way more perfects and most of my misses were playable.
If you over swing, as in above 100%, tempo will be much harder to hit... not sure how many more times I can say this while it still remains a mystery.

Tyler has been a great player at every edition of this game so it’s not surprising he has scores like that. There’s more PS4 players from my knowledge so that’s also going to create more good players from that system. If in 3 months time no xbox user is getting close to the tip then This will show that something is still wrong, but so far scores on pc have been very good and xbox scores have also been good. Not to Tyler’s levels but Tyler is better than most

Hmm...starting to look like I might have been right saying PS4 was the easier console (at the top end of the skill spectrum anyway).

Thanks for the responses guys, it confirmed much of what I had expected.
So, to me, playing for a fast was the obvious option on day 1 just so I could hit a damn fairway. As I began to get more and more perfect tempo's, it started to feel a bit...hokey?...to purposefully play for something intended as a miss in the game. I don't say this to call out guys playing like that, because I completely understand the strategy in doing so, and don't even really disagree with the argument that fast tempo was built as a strategic element in the game (within reason, not like the super slow chips from 19). Playing a fast on purpose with a wild push just feels...I don't know the best way to explain it without seeming like I'm calling people out, because I am 100% not trying to do that, it just kind of feels wrong. That said, since it's something that everyone seems to have embraced without a second thought, I guess my gut feeling of "intent of the game" type of stuff is not in line with the consensus opinion, so I'll just go back to trying to improve in my play with that fast method. Please, please...please don't misread my intent in this paragraph, wasn't sure whether to post but thought we can all be reasonable enough to just talk about things without automatically assuming someone is attacking someone else or calling them a cheat/exploiter/etc.
The question about the haptics on putting comes straight from a match KenTremendous and I played yesterday. After telling him how to turn the rumble on, it maybe took him 2 putts to seemingly perfect an incredibly slow backswing, then just simply pushing up once the slight rumble feel come through the controller. It honestly was silly how easy it made his distance control, save one or two misfires. After watching that, I personally believe that haptic feedback should be turned off for tour play, but there's also zero way to enforce that since it's a controller setting, so that's just a personal opinion.
Thanks again for the comments, really cool to see guys willing to share strategy in the new game, appreciate the openness - and again, please don't take my commentary as a condemnation, just explaining the rationale for my questions more than anything. Cheers fellas, keep up the great play.
I don't need a Smoothie in the morning to know i'm going to pee further. I'll be smooth as well ! Do you prefer banana or watermelon ?

Hmm...starting to look like I might have been right saying PS4 was the easier console (at the top end of the skill spectrum anyway). I don't think many seriously doubted this if they are truly being honest after last season. I am saddened/frustrated that it appears to persist into this game. Shame that there is just so much more apparent randomness on XB1 especially and then also with PC/steam that can't be rooted out on the developers end. A game playing differently depending on what system you play the game on should matter more to a gaming company. That is obviously a selfish opinion as a member of this site that offers cross platform leaderboards.
But, in deference to fairness I can accept that the PS4 community (at least some of it) benefit from the advantages and leaderboards, especially at the highest tour levels here, reap those benefits the most. While I would not want to go back to the simplicity of TGC1, the nostalgia of it is that it seemed as close to balanced as we have ever gotten in this franchise. The top 3 WGR for a large swath of TGC1 was one from each of the long standing platforms/consoles here. Ian Sweeney (PS4), Bradley Garcia (PC), and Griffin Ray (XB1). Maybe the vision of a separated (total of partial) console makes sense from those with the foresight of where and how they envision this plan to take the tours as a whole. But those of us not in the know have apprehension... basically people are uneasy about change I guess it how I would describe it.
Anyways, I just hope that opening a can of worms like this and all the other things that come with it are really thought through by Admin and anyone else with input. In the past the team here has been pretty good about having thought out their plans ahead of time when they implement changes, so I trust that this is just anxiety on my part and likely on others' mind.
Alright, since you let the cat out of the bag, what can be said (by you or Admin) at what a separation by console would look like? Does it occur only at the top end (best scoring console only)? Or is it complete as far as all consoles get their own tours? If it is a "best scoring console" separation, is it total for the entire console or only at a benchmark high-end level a.k.a. like a TGC2 World/Rocher Tour for the top end PS4 only? I know that Admin of the site as a whole doesn't usually dabble in what TST does, but the expectation would also have ramifications for that tour as well and I hope that team was involved in these discussions as well.
Sorry to soapbox and go on tangents, Andre. I just have had random thoughts over the last 2-3 days that I needed to put down in a post so I could gather them together somehow and I think some of what I said would reflect what others in the community are also thinking/wondering about.

And off and away we go...I’m surprised it took this long. Please block me and refrain from replying to my posts. Thank you. If you haven't done so on your end, I would highly suggest this. Has improved the experience I have here at TGCT.

Finished up at -6 with rounds of -7 +6 -6 +1. Kind of all over the place most of the tournament with pockets of good play in R1 and then the back 9 of R3.
