PGA Tour 2K21 / TGC Tours Announcements
Hope everyone is having a good time with PGA Tour 2K21. Quite the shock to the system for most of you I assume but I can assure you that over the coming days and weeks you'll grow accustomed to the new normal that is PGA Tour 2K21. The admin team has a few weeks under our belts and have gone through the transition - much like most of you are doing now. We've experienced putting the ball off the green, slow pitches - you name it - but like with any game, you eventually adapt and get used to the new mechanics and what's left is a pretty tough game of golf that's lots of fun to play.
The game has a few bugs to iron out - some more serious than others - which will affect when we're able to get started here at TGC Tours. In the meantime we'll be busy getting the site prepared for the new game. I'll update you all here as new features are updated/implemented. Let's go over some of the more important points/changes for the upcoming season:
1. If you already have a TGC Tours account, you do not need to register for a new account for the upcoming season on PGA Tours 2K21
You'll keep the same one you've been using and your career stats will remain intact. You can use the same gamertag you have been using provided you didn’t change it. If you have changed it, or changed systems, you can edit your profile on our site by hovering over your name in the upper right corner and clicking Edit Profile.
2. Real tour names are leaving (PGA, European, Korn Ferry)
We've made the tough decision to move away from real tour and event names and will start Season 7 with custom names for all pro tours and pro events. This is to avoid any potential legal issues with tour or event names should we decide to accept sponsorships or offer prizes from outside vendors.
Here's the new societies for PGA Tour 2K21
You'll notice the first letters of our Pro Tours are all the same as their 2019 tours - so our tour icons will remain P, E, KTGCTours (Platinum Tour) - replaces PGA Tour
TGCTours (Elite Tour) - replaces European Tour
TGCTours (Kinetic Tour) - replaces Korn Ferry
TGCTours (Challenge Circuit) - CC-Pro and CC-Am have been combined again
TGCTours (Special Events)
TGCTours (
TGCTours (True Sim Tour)
TGCTours (TBD) - placeholder for a future TGCT project
Weekly Qualifying Event will be played out of the TGCTours (Challenge Circuit) society
There are exhibition events in most of our societies - please join and play as many as you'd like. It'll help provide us with some API data we need to dial in our settings and Fair Play Policy. Thanks!
3. TGC Tours is going to be more competitive focused this season
We are going to narrow our focus as a competitive site for the upcoming season.
- All tours and Challenge Circuit flights (including
ProAm TourBeer League) will have a cut after Round 2 - Not all scores will earn a tour card out of the Qualifying Event - there will be a cutoff - if you don't shoot better than the cutoff you'll remain in the Qualifying Pool for the following week
- Currently we're aiming for all competitive tours (Platinum, Elite, Kinetic, Challenge Circuit) to be on the Master swing difficulty - if you're looking to practice for TGC Tours it's best to work your way up to Masters as soon as you can
- We'll release our society difficulty settings as we get closer to our start date - they are not set in stone yet
4. Everyone will start the season in the Qualifying Event
Due to the drastic difference in how the game plays - we'll be having a fresh start for Season 7 where we will have a multi-week Qualifying Event to help sort out the initial tours. Details on when this will happen will be posted as soon as the game and site are ready for competitive golf.
5. PGA Tour 2K21 course submissions and 2019 Ports are now available for designers
If you are porting an old course from TGC 2019 into PGA Tour 2K21 and it's already in our TGC 2019 course database, please follow these steps to port it to our PGA Tour 2K21 database
- Go to your Designer Page
- Find the course you want to port to PGA Tour 2K21 and click the Port to 2K21 link
- Please do not resubmit approved courses from TGC 2019 - porting them over is much quicker and saves our team from having to review them a second time.
You can now submit new courses from PGA Tour 2K21 - same method as usual via the Submit a Course link in the Course menu.
6. We no longer support TGC 2019
No more TGC 2019 in-game TGC Tours society events and no more submitted courses from that game please and thank you - it was a good run!
For those of you looking to play our exhibition events on our intended settings here they are
