when will the draw for the groups happen? Last year the courses were split into 2 groups after the publish window closed.

I haven’t done anything beyond work on a plot yet...but when does the publish window open? Are we ok to start a work in progress thread at anytime? Do we put that in the contest forum or the under construction forum?

Do we put that in the contest forum or the under construction forum? There is no publish window, just a publish deadline. Feel free to publish any time before Jan 1. WIP threads are encouraged. Soliciting feedback from the community is encouraged. Beta courses are most certainly allowed. If you start a WIP thread, put it in the contest folder. Community members will know to come here and give constructive feedback.

Do we put that in the contest forum or the under construction forum? Publish deadline isn't until January. As far as WIP threads, traditionally they've been in the contest forum. This keeps them all together and keeps the under construction thread from getting crowded. The unique part of this contest is the feedback you are allowed to give and receive, so starting a thread early in the process could be beneficial. Definitely recommend starting one when you start your course. Or at least soon after.

ErixonStone are we allowed to provide specific course settings for judging similar to the Dream Team competition? From the official rules: PGA TOUR 2K21 allows players to choose the course settings before their round. How will that affect the judging?
Judging will be based on the default settings. Designers know their courses the best. If there's a particular tee set, other than the tips, that you think we should play, then please let us know and we'll make note of it, but otherwise, we're going to play the default settings (speed/firmness). If wind is your concern, then you can add recommendations as well, but the judges are going to be looking at the course itself, and not so much into how wind affects the playability. In other words, we'll be identifying safe landing areas, risk-reward plays, and other strategic options to determine playability, understanding that a strong wind can have both a positive and negative impact on play.
