Welcome to the Korn Ferry Championship where we find out who is the Korn Ferry champion for 2020. Its been a long season and it comes down to these final four rounds for those that remain. For the final event, we are playing Black Salt Valley by b101. As many of you know, there has been tension between myself and Ben this past year. For those that don't know, this tension has arisen from slights towards me by Ben both real and imaginary, by this I mean that they are all really imaginary but that does not mean they do not hurt. Since it is the end of a era here on tgctours with us moving on to a new game soon, I thought I would show my kindness by burying the hatchet with Ben. I recorded the conversation I had with Ben so you could all know the efforts I went to to end this feud.
Dan: Hi Ben, how are you today?
Ben: Who is this?
Dan: Don't start that shite again, I am calling with a fantastic off for you, that benefits you and you just cant help yourself can you?
Ben: Ah, hello Daniel.
Dan: Anyway, as you know, the end of the season is upon us and I thought it was time to move on to the new game with a clean slate. So I have decided to offer to you, the chance to host the KF final with Black Salt Valley,
Ben: Wasn't the prize for finishing second in the major design contest, hosting that event?
Dan: I was not going to bring that up but second place again, ha,ha,ha,ha, what a loser,ha,ha,ha.ha,ha,ha,ha,ha
Ben: Dan!
Dan: I decide who hosts what event, me and me alone, prize or no prize.
Ben: Ok.
Dan: Anyway, I am slightly concerned about the greens, did you design them while on Acid?
Ben: The greens were a creative decision, to test and challenge the best players. If that is a issue, the members----
Dan: Members, you want the KF players to become members before they play your course, talk about greed, here I am, bringing honor and pride to you and your course and all you can think about is making money.
Ben: You never let me finish my sent-----
Dan: Let me tell you something Ben, KF players are not rich, they are just starting their career, sometimes struggling just to make ends meet and you want them to pay to play your course. Do you have any idea how expensive it is to by a KF player, there is the scheduler administrative fee, the scheduler tax which alone takes up to 25 percent of their winnings, the scheduler maintenance fees, the mandatory voluntary scheduler Christmas and birthday gift fund. They barely have a pittance left once these fees are paid and you want to take the food from their tables to become members of your golf club, pure greed.
Ben: If you had let me finish you would have heard me say the members version of the course is easier.
Dan: Ohhh, KF players are not good enough for your precious championship version, KF players are just riffraff and not classy enough, is that what you are saying?
Ben: That's not what I am saying at all, just trying help with the scheduling of my course.
Dan: Don't you dare tell me how to schedule, I have been doing this for years. I have more scheduling knowledge in my little toe than your entire brain and you are trying to mansplain scheduling to me.
Ben: Good God, what is wrong with you?
Dan: You don't hear me telling you how to design do you, although, maybe I should, you might actually finish first in a competition for a change, produce a decent course for a change. Hell, with Black Salt Valley alone, I could list 107 different changes to improve the course no end
Ben: I am always happy to hear feedback, like all designers, we love to hear anything that might help us improve the experience for all
Dan: And like all designers, then take all the credit. I can imagine the database submission. Black Salt Valley designed by Ben Page, then in the smallest of small print with valuable input by some dude. You are some piece of work.
Ben: And your completely insane.
Dan: Screw you Ben, there is no need for name calling, I am ending this conversation here but to show I am the bigger man, I will still use the course, nothing to do with it being a competition prize, not what so ever, just me being the kind, generous and wonderful person I am.
So there you have it, I tried but Ben just would not listen, he wants it all about himself. Anyway, to the players still left, it will be tough but you guys are in this because of your ability to handle all the challenges thrown at you so far, good luck and have fun.
