Welcome to the final regular event of the season, always a exciting time of the year with the play offs just around the corner, even more exciting as the new game is merely weeks away. This weeks designer has never had a course on the KF before. I nearly used one of his courses earlier in the season, I think it was called Orca The Killer Whale( quite possible I am getting mixed up with a old b movie)and I thought to myself how cool is that. I then discovered that orcas are not whales at all, they are just Flipper on steroids and I was heartbroken. My dreams of a event where players would also have to battle giant killer sea creatures we’re gone. Bloody dolphins, who wants to play a event where they have to save Timmy after he fell off a boat, a boat that he should not have been out on alone considering his age, I blame the parents myself( again quite possible I am getting fact and fiction mixed up, it tends to happen a lot).Anyway, I did not end up using the course but decided to keep a eye on future Tyler courses as I had a feeling we would end up using one at some stage. Actually, I was wary about using this one, not because of the course, that’s fantastic but because of potential trouble on the course, you see Tyler’s forum name(which for some reason I can not tag) contains the words bearforlife, we also used to have KF member David, also known as rhino4life and you know what that means, yes both are tree hugging hippies that run animal charities and you can not have two charities in the same area at the same time without trouble. You all remember the Blood Drive wars when The Red Cross and Doctors Without Border clashed in 2010, ironically the amount of blood spilled would have saved thousands of lives. And who can forget when two children’s charities clashed which lead to the Ragamuffin War and the now infamous Battle for the Orphans. I dreaded something similar happening on the course because let’s face it, animal charities are the worst, there is no level they will not stoop to. You all know of The Society for the Promotion of Community Kittens right? Oh you don’t, I will tell you why you don’t, David wiped them from the face of the earth when the replaced the horns on his save the gay rhino posters with dildos. That’s all it took, a simple act of vandalism and they were gone. So you can imagine the feelings of dread I had with the thought of Rhinos v Bears, it could have been a bloodbath. Thankfully, David got demoted for being a shite golfer and it was safe to use the course. So have fun every one, enjoy the course knowing your safety comes first and for the love of god, if you see any chuggers( charity muggers) on the course, run.

I believe Bearforlife73 was the tag you were looking for Dan. Does beg the question, who would win a fight out of a rhino and a bear?
No real pressure on me for this event, can't see any way around having to make next week's cut to qualify for week 2 of the playoffs and I'm in no danger of departing through the trapdoor, so a bit of a free hit. I may tee off after work later but I'm knackered after a weekend in a tent so may be tomorrow night. Hoping to keep up my recent run of form, but like I said, really it's next week that matters. Must admit, if I had 4 strikes against my name I would be considering skipping this week.
Good luck all!

Round one had some extremely challenging conditions. High wind and 18x green speeds. Really scrambled to a -6 and felt good about it. Tough one. Get your scoring done early boys. Back nine is a bit dicey.

It's usually resolved in a day or two. Fortunately I put together two decent rounds right in time for the end of the season, -7 and -9, hopefully enough to challenge for the weekend.

So it is, my bad Bill. I was too tired to play last night or I might have noticed. You have got previous though!

No extra shots are going to help me in this one, two and done. First round I started with a missed 5 foot birdie putt on the first hole for the second week in a row. Actually played pretty well from there, scrambled well on the front 9 in challenging conditions, including getting up and down for par from 245 on the second par 5 after going in the water. Picked up a few birds coming home and reached the 18th tee at -6. Hit what I thought was a good drive only to see it bounce left in to the rough, then went swimming again and ended with a disastrous 7 and 3 dropped shots. Only dropped shots of the round, maddening after battling the conditions so well previously.
Probably shouldn't have gone straight in for round 2 after that. Birdied the first but missed an even shorter putt for par on the second by smashing it at the lip, and then another disastrous triple after some good old fashioned Xbox tempo at 5 ended my hopes of a fightback. I did make a great eagle at 6 despite the steam coming out of my ears, but I've stopped after 9 at +1 for the round and -2 for the tournament. I'll use the back 9 as a warm up for my CUCC Major tomorrow.
The course is well done but there's some very small target zones given the firm conditions, generally surrounded by water. Not an Xbox-friendly course! See you for the playoffs next week! I might even have a rare practice round for that one, I'd quite like to hang around for at least one more week...

We’ve all been there, but it is tough to walk away from the console feeling anything but crappy. I need to read up about the playoffs rules.

So the guy that won the last two tournaments here ( by 6 strokes!! and then by a whopping 15 strokes!!!!) was an interesting chap to follow. Hmmm. He got promoted past Euro and right to Pga, I assume by the admins, who were probably also interested...
Anyhoo, he didn’t play until last night and now is gone from the tournament.
Interesting. 😎

Well I liked the course, and I like the designer Tyler, but for whatever reason the course didn't like me back. Just couldn't get the speed/break combo right for whatever reason. Sometimes you have those nights I guess. Thinking -10 is inside the cut this week so with my -8 I probably dont need to hold my breath. Hopefully I can bounce back in the playoffs but man this week I frustrated myself. And if you aren't focused on every shot and play for par at times I think a lot more players will be frustrated. So the course is nice. I like the tropical theme and lighting around it. The par 3's on the back are my two favorite holes and I think look fantastic. While I do like this course I do like the designers other course Old Hickory Hills a bit better. Its probably a bit tougher but overall a good challenge, so maybe for a future event if it gets over to the new version. I love and appreciate the way hmammoth you promote this tour and designers so keep it up into next year and a new game. Its greatly appreciated. Good luck the rest of the week everyone! I have some practicing to do!
