The PGA TOUR Course

Designed by Australian golf legend Greg Norman, El Camaleón is a Par 71, 7,017-yard course featuring ocean-view fairways and winding around the pristine Mayakoba canals. 

The Mayakoba Golf Classic at El Camaleón made history in 2007 when it became the first PGA TOUR event to ever be contested outside of the United States and Canada. Today, the Mayakoba Golf Classic is regarded as one of the finest on the PGA TOUR by professionals and spectators alike. The Mayakoba Golf Classic welcomes 132 professional golfers from around the world to Riviera Maya to participate in four rounds of stroke play competition.

Celtic Wolf Many Thanks to you again Pat for your designing tips. Now that I've finished this I can play some really nice courses that are coming out!

wow..this is simply fantastic to discover.

Another great real course to play. Now i really must find the time to play all the courses i wish to play. It seems a joke, but is by almost 10 days that i wish to play lot of courses but just have not enough time. This and Shoreacres will be my firsts.

Anyway..i played months ago a version we have..a looksalike real course not so good, at all, but checking the course with the satellite map i realized this mist be a very good and funny course and i bet it will be very satisfying to play.

If i understand well, you decided to use the routing used for the Mayakoba, instead to use the "member" routing?

Thanks Ezzino, Yes, I used the PGA routing for the course to make it like an official event. I didn't realize that they had two separate routings on the same course for PGA and resort members, until I started designing the course. The PGA changed the routing to speed up play on the course. On the members version they start out on Hole #7 of the PGA routing. I tried to make all the holes as close to the real course as possible. I hope you enjoy your round (s).

El Camaleon has been refreshed (El Camaleon GC-2019 Pins). I changed the pin locations to last years PGA tournament. Re-sculpted the greens and added a lot more planting. I really like the atmosphere now and the course plays a little tougher.
