Global Golf Tour – Season 2 Starts on July 17th
The Society will consist Gold Tour and Silver Tour. The Season will consist of: - 31 Tournaments - 2 - 1 Round Qualifiers on different courses - 2 Majors - 2 Championships - 10,000 Bonus Point Playoff Qualifier - Playoffs - Global Golf Tour Cup
A change from Season 1 is that the tournaments will be in varying lengths from 1 Round to 3 Rounds with the Majors and GGT Cup Final scheduled for 4 Rounds.
The first 2 tournaments will be qualifiers on "non-rated" courses and the conditions will be moderately easy.
The top 25 points and/or earnings from the qualifiers will determine ho begins in the Gold Tour and the rest will go into the Silver Tour. In addition anyone who has won a Tournament on the Global Golf Tour will be in the Gold Tour and is not at risk of being demoted to the Alternative Tour.
Presently we have between 40 and 80 participants in each tournament, by having the Top 25 plus past event winners in the Gold Tour this will give us about a 50/50 player allocation between the Tours. As we gain more people and I start to see that around 100 people playing in each event then the Top 50 people in points/earnings plus past winners will be in the Gold Tour
After each event the seedings will change and you could move up to the Gold Tour or down to the Silver Tour depending on your points and earnings.
Each Tournament will have bonus earnings added to the prize fund. These funds come from the Society bank account and from generous donations from members. In most cases the Gold Tour has a larger Bonus Fund this enables members the Gold Tour to have a slight advantage in staying ahead of others in the Silver Tour. However, in Events 9, 15, 21 the Silver Tour tournament will have significantly higher earnings bonus which will enable them to earn more and be promoted up to the Gold Tour.
TGC2019 determines how the payouts are allocated between participants. It is generally thought that the top 75 in each tournament receive points/earnings. Those finishing in the Top 5 earn significantly more than the rest. Finishers in the 6th to 10th spots receive sizeable payouts as well while the rest of the finishers receive progressively less. By finishing in the Top 10 and playing regularly you will solidify your chances of remaining in the Gold Tour or being promoted up from the Silver Tour.
Gold Tour will have tougher playing conditions, Silver Tour will be set up a little easier.
For our 2 Majors the Gold Tour size will be increased to the Top 50 plus previous winners.
The very confusing and much hated Handicap Qualifier has been eliminated and replaced with a “10000 Point Bonus Qualifier”.
Anyone joining the Society after the Qualifying tournament be placed in the Silver Tour and as they score points and earnings they will be able to move up into the Gold Tour.
Currently the Bonus Fund is sitting at 180,000. Any donations received before Tournament #5 will be added to the Season 2 Bonus Fund, any received after the 5th Tournament will be added to the Season 3 Fund.

We have completed the 1st phase of our Qualifying Event at Victoria Golf Club in Australia. We had 50 entrants and 49 finishers, a search crew has been sent out looking for the missing golfer.
Course conditions were set up with no wind, moderate green speeds and firmness and moderate fairways. The purpose was to shoot low scores and have some fin. Since Victoria golf Club is not currently rated the low scores will not effect players' handicaps.
The top 5 finishers:
RxMaster42 -13 Omahaack47 -12 UFgatorkyle -11 Saibs19 -11 MrEagle2018 -10
This tournament has an earnings bonus of 5000 coins as will our Phase 2 Qualifier at Northcastle.
Top 25 competitors after the 2 Qualifiers along with winners of any events in Season 1 will begin the Season 2 on the Gold Tour.

Castlerock in Northern Ireland was brought to it's knees in the 2nd Qualifying round. With no wind and soft greens it was a shooting gallery for our golfers. Our Top 5 finishers were"
Jamesbirchbrand -14 ZeroFARP30 -13 Johno--21 -13 BarryLavety -12 BillyCutshow_1 -12
Followiing the 2 Qualifying Rounds the Top 25 in Earnings along with previous winners on the Global Golf Tour start the season on the Gold Tour with the remaining golfers in the Silver tour
The Top Qualifier was RXMaster12 with 1202 and our 2tth ranked qualifier was Windy-City-Snipa with 339.
The Gold and Silver Tours are played on the same courses with the Silver Tour having slightly less challenging conditions and in some cases will be shorter in length.
Our season opener is at Merion with the Gold Tour playing for 2500 Bonus earnings and the Silver 1500 bonus earnings. To move up to or remain in the Gold Tour your season earnings total need to be in the Top 25.
Good luck to everyone at Merion.

As expected Merion is proving to be a challenge. It's longer than average Par 3's are anything but birdie opportunities and tough Par 4's make this a course where you often play for par's, avoid the bad holes and take the birdies where they come. The 18th Hole may be one of the most difficult closing holes Tour members will play all year. A long par 4 with a fairway that slopes to the left, water down the entire left side of the hole and a severely sloping green that naturally slopes to the left.
Something never seen before on the Global Golf Tour and probably never again is that Parbuster1962 has a comfortable lead in the clubhouse with a score of -11. BarryLavety and BBnation85 are in 2nd with -5 scores.
In the Silver Tour Opener newcomer Tbolt8000v leads at -12 with Lalphoto 3 shots behind at -9.
On July 21st. we head into the heartland to play a single round tournament at Sand Hills in Nebraska. As long as the winds stay down it will be a chance to get quite a few birdies and the odd eagle.

Cornhusker Gold Cup and Corndog Amateur Recap
The winds on the plains of Nebraska took it's toll on many of us at Sandhills. The Ben Crenshaw designed course is quite easy if there is no wind but high winds quickly dry out the greens and it becomes imperative to stay below the hole on approach shots or you will be looking at longer 2nd putts than 1st putts.
TBolt80000V showed us that the jump from the Silver Tour up to the Gold is not that difficult as he cruised to a 3 shot win in his first event on the Gold Tour.
Top 5 in the Cornhusker Gold Cup were:
Tbolt80000v -8 RxMaster42 -5 BarryLavety -4 There's Barry on the leaderboard again!!! BillyVutshaw_1 -2 Parbuster1962 -1
Over at the Silver Tour's Corndog Amateur it was a hard fought event with 10 golfers within 4 shots of the winner.
Top 5 were:
dam-53-65 -7 G1R4RD1N -6 Astrovex92 -6 Alvarito1511 -5 MGonzo21 -5
It was a short trip to Chicago where we are playing Medinah #3. While the greens and wind aren't as punishing the course itself is one of the toughest we will face all year. Many holes are dog legs and wit hthe mature trees lining he fairways if you will need to end some shots into the green if you are on the wrong side of the fairway.

Windy City Open & Midwest Silver Recaps
Could it have been a tighter finish in the Windy city Open? 6 golfers within 1 shot of the title!!
Congratulations to: Alvarito1511 and AstroVex92 for their first victories on the GGT and GoPack2017 who is a multiple winner on Tour. Each winished at -8 with TB12_Je11_93, Slake_Moth and ufgatorkyle for their 2nd place finishes at -7. This was the second consecutive event where Slake came in 2nd.
Over on the Silver Tour BarryLavety was the winner. I'm not sure why Barry was not eligible for the Gold Tour event. Another one of the mysteries surrounding the statistical function on TGC2019!!!
Barry finished at -15 with Dungarvoner_12, Sperezettedgui23 and Greponnej one shot back at -14. Robotdino150 and Shotgunwillie24 rounded out the Top 5 with -13 scores.
The Tour now heads south to play our first 3 round tournament of the year.
The statistical function on TGC2019 currently has a "network error" so I am not sure if the stats are being recorded or not. We will now once the glitch has been rectified.

Hi Parbuster,
I didn't notice until after I'd finished the last event that I'd been bumped from the gold tour I just started and played round as fast as I could .
Seems that I am still ineligible for the gold event which is a shame as I really enjoy the tour and I like measuring my performance against familiar names on the leaderboard.
I know it's outwith your control and I'm not complaining, I just hope it is something that is sorted soon.
In the meantime I shall try to take the silver tour by storm.

Unfortunately, due to a problem with the Statistics function we will return to the single tour format until HB Studios deals with the problem. Many of our Gold Tour members were bumped back down to the Silver Tour and a number of Silver Tour members who gained promotion were unable to move up.
Once the problem has been corrected we will return to the Gold and Silver Tour formats.
Thank you for your patience.

Southern Belle & Deep South Invitational Recaps
Confusion and frustration were the words for the weekend and our latest event. Due to "computer malfunction" all the Societies in the HB Studios gaming world lost their statistics due to a "network error". HB has been made aware of the problem and in usual fashion we have no idea if or when it will be fixed.
As a result of the problem only a handful of players were able to enter the Gold Tour and the remainder were erroneously placed into the Silver Tour.
Our 2 winners were: AGOATNAMEDSETH and BarryLavety
Until the statistics function is repaired the following changes to the Society have been made:
1. Gold & Silver Tours have been combined 2. Everyone qualifies for Majors and Global Golf Tour Cup 3. Entry fees have been waived 4. Each event will have a 10,000 coin prize which will be funded from the Society bank account
Once the problem has been corrected we will go back to the Gold and Silver Tour format for the remainder of the season.

American Golf Championship Recap
If one thing is consistent on the Global Golf Tour is that playing conditions vary wildly from round to round. The American Golf Championship at TPC San Antonio was no exception. Round 1 is played in a heavy rain resulting in the course playing very long but you could attack the pins albeit with long irons and fairway woods. Round 2 the winds switched and the course dried out giving the course the teeth it's known to have.
Less than 10 players broke par on the final round with ZeroFarp30 shooting a blistering 65 for the come from behind win.
Our Top 5 finishers were:
1. ZeroFarp30 -12 2. Alvarito1511 -11 3. Slake_Moth -10 T4. jstover50 -9 T4. ufgatorkyle -9 T4 manners340 -9 T4 gwd77 -9
We now leave one COVID-19 hot spot and head over to another....Los Angeles, CA for the Hollywood Open @ Riviera.

Hollywood Open Recap
Riviera put up a great fight and some rather odd greens made for challenging putting and bouts of frustration. Societies are at the mercy of the course designers and unfortunately the designer of this version of Riviera took some creative liberties on the greens.
As always it was a highly competitive tournament. We are now in the middle of summer vacation time so our participation dropped a little .
Congratulations to Astrovex92 for the win with a score of -11. This is Astovex92's 2nd win of the season following his win at the Windy City Open
Top 5 finishers were:
Astrovex92 -11 BarryLavety -10 Panhitolea05 -9 Windy-City_Snipa -9 GoPack2017 -8
For the next 2 days we are at Jack Nicklaus' master creation Muirfield Village. Jack has promised slower and softer greens this year.

Golden Bear Invitational Recap
Jack showed off his masterpiece and it is in pristine condition. Perfect weather and mild winds prevailed and the competitors all breathed a collective sigh of relief. That said Muirfield Village's water hazards are strategically placed and are there for more than just their beauty.
We had one of our first decisive victories of the season with Ufgatorkyle shooting a remarkable -20

Swiss Shootout
As expected the Shootout was indeed a chance to shoot low scores under easier conditions. There were some complaints about the 6th green on Round #2 although the pin was in a challenging position some players forgot that most course designers make the greens on short par 5's more difficult than on a long par 4.
Top 5 finishers were:
1. Magnum Mikey1034 -26 2. DojerMcfloj -24 3. AGOATNAMEDSETH -23 4. GoPack2017 -19
There were a long list of players tied for 5th at -19: TB12-je11-93, ClintHorris44, Timtam2005, robotdio150, ufgatorkyle, Meyer7921...if I missed anyone else I do apologize.
The Global Golf Tour now heads back to the USA for the first Major of the year being held at an unrated version of Greenbrier. I chose an unrated version because the rated version had too many flaws and inconsistent holes. The PGA Championship is not normally played on as challenging courses and conditions as the US Open, British Open and Masters so I have set up the 4 rounds with a mixed bag of conditions. Winds will range from low to very high; green speeds slow to very fast, green firmness soft to very firm and terrain from soft to very firm. Rain is expected on one day so as long as players can deal with wet grips the scores will be low.
Good luck to all.
