I’ve started my new course a couple of days ago. These 2 holes aren’t fully finished but almost there. A little more planting touches to do and maybe tweak the lighting a little.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the above?

Some quick tips:
- Raise the outside of the bunkers rather than sink the centers of them.
- Make your bunkers smaller.
- Make sure shapes of bunkers have smoother or sharper edges. There was a mox of both andbit did not mesh super well.
- Make sure some of thr bushes in the spots you planted sre sunk into the groubd. Sometimes they look like they are floating when ghey arent. But overall the planting is nice.
Some positives:
- Nice terrain movement - Hole ideas were great - macrosculpting was well executed.
Hope this helps and cant wait to see how this turns out!

Thanks a lot for the comments. Will have a look over the bushes. Difficult with the bushes gives as they all kindof pivot on a centre point so will either sink some and/or plant some grass/small rocks around them. With the bunkers the look I’m going for is large depressed bunkers with the weird shapes. I think from playing a decent few Steepe designs, the large bunkers look better in my opinion. My previous course-my 2nd (Links @ Fir Trees Bay G.C) I was advised not to use too many simple shapes and that some of my bunkers were very similiar (small). It’s kindof why I decided on a Steepe course so that I can go a little extreme in the other direction. This will be only my 3rd course so I’m trying to find my style if that makes sense. For example Artic fury/Crazycannuck seem to have a particular style that they revert to a lot of times.
I’ve set my bunkers quite firm so that nothing should get plugged in the face of them and should kick them back to the flatter area of the bunkers meaning that it will mean some slightly longer bunker shots but should be on reasonably flatter lies and fairway bunkers similiar. I will however raise some bunkers if necessary to avoid any blind ones from tee shots etc
Thanks again for the feedback. Very interesting to hear people’s point of view and although I won’t agree with everything, I definitely take it all on board.

The 7th. Probably going to be the hardest hole on the course. Tight drive to a 25-30 yard fairway. Bunkers left and right on the fairway and a huge bunker covering the front of the green. Green has a false front and slopes a little left and right from the middle shelf. A small bit of a backstop at the back of the green.
