Playa Maravilla CC is a fictional, fantasy-ish course set in a dunes-type environment and it is the follow-up to my TGCT Design League Contest 1 entry. The main goals of this course for me were to make the environment believable, even though it may not exist anywhere, and to build a championship level course in a dunes environment with no bunkers (only dunes and sand). The city on the island acts as a backdrop to several holes, and you can find a row of mansions on top of the hill. Take a look around if you have the skycam. I threw a couple of fun little details and tricks in. Please don't play Playa Maravilla GC, that was a mispublish. Playa Maravilla CC is the correct version. Hope you guys like the course! Scorecard/Yardages (Par 70): Blue tees: 6913 Yards White tees: 6360 Yards Green tees: 6004 Yards Red tees: 5238 Yards Photo Gallery: Hole 4: Hole 10: Hole 11: Hole 14:

Comfortably the best surprise I've had when reviewing and can't wait to see your next courses. Routing and aesthetics are top drawer, the way the course builds up to the coastline and loved the greens. My two critiques were that occasionally the giant yellow plants jarred when they were close to the tee and I'd have liked to see a bit more strategy off the tee on a few holes (read the Template holes thread for ideas if you need them). The greens are already there - just think this would take it to the next level. This course slipping to page two without a comment is a crime - get out and play it, people! See the below screenshot of the par three 12th and the routing for two compelling reasons why...

After catching up on the CCDC courses, this was at the top of my list. Great looking environment! I like the diversity of building types used for the city skyline instead of just one or two structures repeated. The building work on course was nice looking as well. Great job sir! Sorry I haven't gotten around to playing Reichenbach Falls, I will try to hit that one up soon. There have just been an avalanche of courses lately, and keeping up with them is proving to be a futile quest. However, I'm glad I made time for this one! Keep up the great work man!

I'm trying to work on planting a little smaller and with a little more subtlety so I appreciate you pointing that out! I will definitely work on incorporating some template type tee shots (or at the very least more tee shots that are less straight away). Thanks for all the positive feedback and I really appreciate the detail you put into your response! Also, thanks for the pics! I always seem to have a hard time getting good ones on PS4 so that was quite nice of you to do.

Thanks for the comment Michael! Really cool that you go around and promote all of these designers' courses like this. Reichenbach Falls, admittedly, isn't as careful of a publish as I'm trying to go for but you might have some fun playing it and at the very least it's HCP rated. Btw I'll make sure to throw some rocks into my next publish for you (and maybe even a waterfall)!

Honestly, for the most part, the larger planting with the bushes works WAY better than doing smaller items and I would only have critiqued the ones very close to the tees. Otherwise, it was perfect IMO

Good to know about planting near tees, wouldn’t have thought about that otherwise so I appreciate that.

I decided this course should get another shot at page 1, since I published it right in the thick of all the awesome new CC courses. If you liked something about my course, let me know so I can use whatever that might be in the future (although B101 covered a lot which was very helpful). Or maybe a PM would be better if you want to send a critique, I'm very down to learn stuff. Just wanted to put this back up and see what happens since it kind of got lost. Good luck to everyone in the CC contest btw!

Very much enjoyed this course. Wasn’t too keen on the city part but course played very well and even managed a hole in one on 3. My first one for quite a while.

Congrats on the hole in one, especially on a 230 yarder! Wasn't sure if everyone would like the city. I thought it might be a fun thing to put in there, definitely a little more on the fantasy side though. Glad you liked the course!

Haha thanks for that Wes. Course has been stuck at 300 plays so the support means a lot!

Just finished some renovations on this and I published it. My goal is to make it a bit more strategic without changing the layout too much. It looks way better in 2K21! Love the bunker looks in this new game!
