This weeks course is Royal Doorknob by whineybrat. Hold on a second, that does not sound right, let me check my notes. Ok, this weeks golf course is Royal Dornoch Golf Club by whinnybrae, a stunning rcr set in the middle of no where in the highlands of Scotland. This course was two years in the making, can you believe that, two years. Actually the course was designed in two weeks, the rest of the time Chris spent giving the course an authentic Scottish look by hiding empty cans of Irn-Bru in the heavy rough, and hunting away Harry Potter fans who are searching for Hogworths castle. Those two years were worth it though as you can see by the course.
For many of you, it will be your first visit to Scotland and I hear you asking what Scotland is famous for. Well, let’s see, hmmmm, oh, it’s famous for mystical creatures, and of course we can’t forget the Scottish people, or don’t they fit into the mystical creatures category. Grown men wearing skirts, that’s another one. It’s famous for spelling the word whiskey wrong, actually, speaking of whiskey, here is a little tip. I live about a half a hour from the Jamison Whiskey distillery, needless to say when people are visiting, a trip to the distillery is in order. When going, arrange to be in a group with non drinkers and the designated drivers, that way, when it comes to taste testing and free samples, you get to drink them all. Anyway back to Scotland, it’s also famous for voting against Ireland when Ireland bid to host the rugby World Cup, oh and there is that Australian guy, Mel Gibson, Scotland is famous for him to. And how can we forget, the Scots invented both golf and television, so while you are sitting in front of your tv, trying to hit a tiny ball across a big field, getting frustrated with the games, breaking controllers in anger, screaming at a pixelated version of yourself, you know who to blame, yes the Scots.
You know what there is also a lot of in Scotland, links golf courses and you know what’s common at links golf courses, wind. The forecast for this week is not good. It is possible that this could be the windiest week ever on the KF. A small bit of advice for those that make the cut, if wearing Scottish man skirts on the course, make sure you are also wearing underwear, the wind is going to be brutal and I don’t think the spectators really want to see what hiding under there. So good luck everyone and enjoy one of the best rcr’s released recently, plan every shot carefully, good scores are there, this week, you will have to work for them.
