A family zoom meeting where I gave my mum and my sister a bloody good listening to, served as a break between rounds One and Two. I began to regret jumping straight back into my rounds as a very slow out of nowhere put me in a waste area way, way right of the target. I didn't find the dancefloor and scrambled a par. Similar on the next and worse still a bogey on the third. I considered stopping but after my pep talk to Johnny it didn't sit right with me. An eagle on the first par-5 and three more chirps saw the turn reached in -4. To be honest, I'm not actually sure if that was the score at the turn. I started sticking pins, avoided disaster off the tee and putted like my life depended on it. In the end it was three eagles (and a Brazilian on the last with a 3" birdie putt) eight birdies, six pars and the lone blemish on the card. I even managed to not be put off by cappy1 sending messages that flashed up on screen at inopportune moments. Old Biggus Diccus was leering down at me from the top of the PS4 leaderboard as I staggered off for a rub down with a damp copy of Golf Monthly. Round 2 -13 and a halfway mark of -24

1st round -5
Our quest for the Holy Grail seen our boat set sail to the other side of the world, Australia to be more precise not Austria as some ninny in the crew thought. Our weapons of choice, our trustworthy sword and mace had been replaced by some rather odd shaped sticks and a few balls (just in case).
CHARGE!!
I made it through the front 9 at E after picking up 2 a piece of birdies and bogies. The advance started in earnest on the 13th with a birdie and continued unabated for the next 3 holes. A slight break on the 17th resulted in par before a final push on the 18th led to the final birdie of the round.
Not enough bloodshed and wenches in this new way of war but quite enjoyable all the same.

Dead Parrots Rd 1 -8 Happy with a bogey free rd Highlight for me was hole 10 where I was looking at a bogey at least after just missing the fairway the ball bounced its way down into the water. 2nd shot off the tee saw me clear the fairway to end in the rough with about 90 yards to the pin, clubbed up one and went for it . Popped in the hole like if it was my birthday. Scorecard as required

Round 1 Art Vandelay Peoples Front of.....err no that's not right....Popular Front of.....mmmm, no.....Us Guys! Slow starter, clean outward but only 3 chirps and maybe as many Brazilians. Inward started poorly by smashing my drive into that deep pocket of crap on the right side of the fairway (honestly thought I would not reach that). First Humph of the DPS season (more to come boys and girl). Did bounce back on 11 and garnered 4 more chirps (one was a near Ventura, 8 inches short) and an iggle. -9 (see cappy1, I can help now and then). Onward!

Back 9 of -6 but gotta do better on the front. Finding the front a little intimidating which is causing me to be a bit tentative on the crucial approach shots, inevitably causing tempo problems entirely of my own making. How frustrating is it when you're 120 yds out and you get the Very Slow with the ball peeling 25 yds right of the green into all the crap?

evilgrin72 Johnny, are you exclusively on Masters now? Just curious, not making a club debate, but if that was with Pro clubs...... Pro clubs. I can't get anything going on this track.

Round 2, I hit it about as well as I can. Tempo P/P across the board, not one shot out of the cone. Still ended up with quite a few long birdie putts, two of which did a full 360 degree circumnavigation of the cup before not falling. Started out with 2 pars and a bogey on the first three before rallying for 5 birdies in the last 6 to turn at -4. Birdied 11-13, had a tap-in eagle on 15, birdied 17 & 18. If those two putts had fallen, would have been quite a solid round, but I'm finally beginning to get a handle on the course. Just need a little luck.
R2 : -11 (61)

Round 1 in at Klopp's Dam, liked it batter than his pocket I'll tell you that much.
Humphed the 5th hole on each side but still managed -7, so happy with that.
Onward!

My first round as a parrot that's dead was an absolute disaster on the front nine.
I started the round off with birdie opportunities on the first 4 holes but came away with pars. My first birdie was hole 5 with par on the 6th, followed by birdie on the 7th and then disaster stuck.
The par 3 hole 8 I managed to produce a very slow downswing (my fault) and put my ball well right of the green and watched it roll down the side of the cliff and into the water which resulted in a double bogey. Another par on the 9th and I made the turn for home at E.
Back 9 started off well with 2 birdies on the first 3 holes before I produced my highlight hole, the par 5 13th where I made an eagle which was only 3 feet away from being an albatross.
I finished the round off strongly with 4 birdies over the last 5 holes.
Round 1 -8

With a busy couple of days coming up I decided to get my individual rounds out of the way at Klopp's Dam. I ended up with three half crowns, 7/6 in old money. It's a lovely course but my playing style and clubs weren't up to the challenges set. In the end I was left feeling like one of the honour guard at the Ethiad last Thursday, respecting the opposition but knowing my title challenge was over for this season.
Element 2 - Individual rounds -13
