Wow dude, absolutely wow. Loved it and had a crack round on it to. Great detail and really good to play for me since i have never been to victoria. I know it's unintentional, but damn, the thumbnail of the full car park is too perfect.

Leapt in to play straight after that comment and wow, this blew me away. The use of boreal is interesting for sure - not the theme I'd have gone with, but you definitely get a cool look and certainly some ideas I can see myself reusing down the line. I loved that I never felt comfortable on the greens. Ended up three-putting twice from inside five feet, putting into a bunker and never worked out the right balance between being aggressive or defensive with my putts. Considering you did this as a non-lidar RCR, this is mindblowingly good. Easy 5* and a favourite and one I'd encourage everyone to drop what they're doing and go play.
As an aside, back to back fives to close each nine is mental...

Out of interest, what theme do you think may have worked better? LKeet6 suggested Delta - is that your opinion also? If so, mainly to improve the planting options or just a dislike of Boreal bunkers? Thanks again for taking the time to have a round and for sharing the feedback.

Delta probably fits the types of trees you want the best, whereas Countryside gives you a great colour palette with grasses/trees/bushes - it's a really versatile theme. Like I say though, the look is really cool, just unexpected!

Seems to me that for courses in hot countries, delta is by far the most popular. Desert is too rocky and "mars like." Delta offers that dried out look, the right colour pallets for green and fairway, and the sort of thin and dried out trees. But it sounds like everyone loves your course! So I wouldn't worry about it! I'm looking forward to playing it. Someone in my society has designed a course, so we'll be playing that next, and then yours next week 👍 Edit: seems like b101 feels countryside ALSO offers good colour choices. Interesting that he called it "versatile" I hadn't thought of it that way 👍

Haven't played this yet, but definitely will when I get home from work today. Always looking for a good Sandbelt course. Countryside is really underrated for a Sandbelt course. Delta heavy rough texture can be good when burying trees to burn it out some, but I tend to think it gets TOO sandy. I actually like the idea of using the boreal bunker lips in the way you have, and I think you really need Elms to get trees that look like this, so countryside or boreal would be my choice:

I'm convinced 👍
Little bit "dark," but the colours work very well, no doubt. And these things are never "perfect."
I'm massively looking forward to this one 👏
