Ranfurly GC is my entry into this years CC Design Challenge. *HB default terrain firmness in Autumn to soft, please change this to very firm.
Set on a small plot of land in the rural South Island town of Ranfurly. This championship course will challenge players of all levels. The course is published at firm conditions and the greens running at 170. For those who wish for a more challenging round this course has been built to handle max conditions without creating illegal pins (hopefully). Enjoy.

I loved your course! Beautiful blend of aesthetics, playability, eye candy, and good technique. This one I think will do well. If you don’t mind my asking, what theme did you use and how did you get the terrific texture for your planted areas? I really liked the way they looked! Good luck in the comp!

Thanks, glad you like it. This course is made in the Autumn theme. The texture for the planted areas is done by burying trees underneath the ground. The best tree imo to do this is the first elm in the list.

Speaking of that routing pic. How big is the course plot? Im guessing 9000 square yards.
Edit: Missed a zero. 90000.

Really solid contest entry! I really liked the clean look created by going straight to heavy rough, but hopefully we'll be able to get this kind of clean look with light rough but without days of detailed brushing, in the new game. Anyway, I really enjoyed the course, and really like your style in general. Even though it "looks simple" there is a ton of detail work in the sculpting, and some good eye candy if you look into the neighborhood. Overall, well done!

Not the easiest to work out but I plugged some values into an area calculator and it spat out 600k sq yards. Id say this probably trims just a little bit off in places so I'd say it's more like 650-700 depending on if you include the driving range or not.

Saw Koastin play this one on stream. This course is good stuff man, very much looking forward to it. Greens looked awesome and the terrain movement is understated yet effective.
