Going for Art Vandelay’s barcalounger this week. Speed golfed round four for a +10, but the other three rounds were at least respectable. +1, -2, -2, +10 for a +7 Onward!

I don't mind having weeks with tougher courses, particularly when they're well designed as they usually require good strategic play to score well. Unfortunately this course wasn't IMO; way too tricked up with the combination of contouring, firmness and speed particularly the greens. Predominantly you had to either hit a perfect shot and land in the correct 1 sq foot of green / fairway or alternativly play to the rough for chips. I thought this detracted from the strategy of playing the template holes. Didn't enjoy my rounds at all, speed golf all the way. This was contrasted for me by the tough strategic course I played in TST this week, no wonder Quincy Downs won the Major Design contest. It has plenty of contouring on fairways and greens and requires a lot of thinking through your shots but it was very playable in all of the varying conditions / set-ups used for the week. Even though I didn't score very well I still enjoyed my rounds. I only finsihed up my 4 Euro rounds because of the Cow Hunt; -1,-2,-3,-3 for a -9 total for me thanks up mup kupen nupGood luck (and bounces, roll-outs) to those yet to finish. Onto next week.

This tells me all I need to know. Pretty hard to play a tough course that requires strategic shots if you’re just playing speed golf the whole way around. Also tough to then come and blast the course after doing so.

I think you catch my drift.
I played smart, had 3 bogeys all 4 rounds and sitting top 5 right now. And I only make 58% of cuts. The course was manageable with patience, just saying.

Hi Darryl, Hope you don't mind me responding... given that I was the one starting this discussion about the course and conditions. I understand where you're coming from and I "catch your drift". I hope you also "catch my drift"... I did not complain because I played badly. In fact, I'm just one shot behind you in 6th place right now. I also don't want to score low every week. In fact, I would prefer to have more tournaments where -20 for four rounds is competitive. However, that does not mean that I have to like the way that is accomplished. For me, pixel golf is the most fun if it resembles real life golf as much as possible. For me, this week's course and conditions did not and, therefore, I did not enjoy them. Then again, it's perfectly fine if others did and, as stated before, you can't please everyone every week. Best wishes, Frans

As I said before, feedback is always welcome! I don’t take anything personally here when it comes to that. We are all entitled to our own opinion and civil discussion (as I think we’ve had here). Obviously, as we’ve stated before, there is zero percent chance that everyone is happy with every course. I understand that. Tough but fair courses are the goal. Looks like I struck out this week even though I enjoyed the challenge. I’ll just accept the fact that I am in the minority with that opinion. My apologies to those that felt different but it is what it is. Onto next week!

I made my first cut in Euro on this course and said in a previous post that I like the design. I get both Frans‘ and your viewpoints, but I also wanted to point out that ENAGC18 surely didn‘t base his criticism (which I don‘t necessarily share) on four speed golf rounds. 😊

I guess we need Daxon Blaze back here to really heat things up... #justkidding #donthateme #imnewhere

Cow Cup Rounds- Missed the deadline for my official rounds- whoopsie. Rd 1- +1 Roller coaster of great and pure nonsense. Rd 2: -2 lol'd at a 15' birdie putt on 11- that ended up 40y away for my only blemish. Rd 3: -2 with only one putt off the green, but 3 3 putt bogeys. I do love that 16th hole- noted for future designs. Rd 4: -6. Coulda been the round of my month if not for 2 bs 3 putt bogeys on 11 and 12. I felt like I played the course (almost) exactly as JoeG intended it to be played.
Total: -9 Taking it and running to next week.

The Hunt for the Golden Cow, Week 4 so far: -3 final round. -22 for the tournament. Finally felt the course like some of the guys ok here have been talking about. Worse round since I joined TGC Tour. Wanted to throw my controller into the tv after a double bogey on 7. Good luck to everyone finishing up. Hopefully I can add a promo mark but I doubt it. Extremely frustrated.

4th round was a mirror image to the first. Went into 17 at -5 and finished at -3.
-2 -5 +2 -3
Very happy to escape with all my green marks intact and even happier to put this course in the rearview.
