Try out Woodbridge Open @wcc. It is a tough course that will force you to shape your shots if you want to go for it. If not you can lay up and hope for Par. The is one shortcut on the course that can help or hurt you depending on how you play it. Let me know what you think. I would love some constructive criticism. Thanks.

Going to have to withdraw. Dont think I will be able to get the course done in time and the 50 other courses will probably be better. And I will never be of the quality to host a US open. Enjoying playing the other courses more than anything else

I was wondering if you guys think this might be an issue. I am seeing US open contest entry courses being published and submitted for review. Regular review staff is picking them up and play testing them and giving them a rating. Once the official team goes to review them there might already be a rating assigned from the review staff that could potentially influence the contest. I also see that some of the courses submitted for review are not containing the information in the course description that they are US open entries

As it gives those that are still working on their courses, a gauge on what to do better, or to avoid to separate it from all the others ... In my case ... I don't care what anyone creates. My course will be its own downfall, It has the unfair disadvantage of being compared based off a real place. Even if I declared that it cannot be that "place" as GNCD will not accommodate my desires to make it such. Having said that, I feel that the "Official judges" of the contest, should not be allowed to play any contest course before the end of the contest. IMHO.

I'm not going to publish an early beta. I'll send the file to some folks I trust...but that's about it. Already have sent the front 9 to a few guys and gotten some feedback. I've stepped away from the course for the last week and worked on something else or simply one some detail work. I'll lay out the back once I have the detail on the front and the clubhouse area worked out. It's nice to not worry about the holes right now.
The one thing I'm finding difficult is getting the SURROUNDING area to look good in the countryside theme. It's just so open... it's hard to get the right look without creating a big line of hills or a lake or something...

An idea I had which I would float here to see if anyone agrees might be to add an option to the course submittable page that says TGC contest entry. Then in the reviewer section there would be another category for Contest Entries and the day to day reviewers would know to leave those courses alone. That way once the judging time came the team could easily filter the contest entry courses. Any of you that are not reviewers dont see this page but it sure would make things a little smoother in my opinion which doesnt really mean alot.

The reviewers rating is not in any way an "official" score. It has as much weight as any other user score. The work of the review-team is to approve courses and flag them as potential tour venues or 5*. If a contest entry does not get approved then there is no reason for the judges to play it imo.
I think it would be an issue if a competition course would get 5 stars before competition ended.

So the official announcements thread for the contest is locked? Anyway, my question was never answered. I'm already registered for the contest, and maybe I missed it somewhere in the forum, but when is the Official Course Submission Deadline for this contest?
