I'm toying with the idea of no planting on this course and just leaving it a barren volcanic wasteland. I see potential on both sides of the fence. We'll see. It's going to be a while before I can really sink time into this.
Actually looking to try to make the bunkers the star of the show (along with the volcano). I found a pretty interesting look I could get with splining the outer edge of the bunker at 1.7 (smallest) width. Gives me that bumpy Necedah type look and then fill in the middle with regular sand.

TGC 2K21 needs black sand! What theme is this course? This is Delta Could work with that theme well given the sunken tree trick. Have you considered using some really big rocks sunken into the ground to create some ancient lava flows? Maybe have a few grasses and bushes poking up through the gaps to make it look like life is trying to cling on despite the extreme land scape? Interested to see where you take this. As a side note, are you participating in the TGCT design league?

I think sculpting and the sunken trees will be my friend here. Not doing the design league. Looks like a lot of fun but I can't dedicate enough time to make it worth participating in.

I have no doubt you'll rock this no matter what direction you go. Look forward to seeing the progress sir!

That lighting looks great for any holes going that particular direction, anything facing the sun and it's completely washed out.. will have to try something else

Is a great project. Not only ambitious..but also brave, considering that the main, huge difficulty will be for sure the lack of options in the editor. A lot of ideas to obtain a great result as you are planning could be roasted at the very start by this fact.. And as you already stated, the lighting alone probably can't do the trick. It will be a great project to follow..i bet that if there is someone who can find a way to realize it, that one can be easily you. Share some other pic, when you have some idea..it will be a pleasure to follow your work..Good luck

I wanted to try the no planting thing but I just wasn’t happy with what I was getting. I’ll see if I can plant some more tonight for an updated first tee picture

Good idea..i planned to design too, tonight. Is a shame that the lack of options in the editor penalizes too much your starting idea, but i have no doubt you'll find your way. Have a good night and good work, then, mate. I'll see the result later

Had to change up the lighting though I think this will work nice with the planting. Off and running.

Trying a different approach with this course. I usually route the entire thing, then surface, sculpt, and finally plant. Here I’m routing as I go, whatever makes most sense on the plot, surfacing, sculpting and planting one hole at a time start to finish.
