This week on the KF we have a course by Docproc, tgctours resident where the sun doesn’t shine designer. Also known as Hootbleet , Docproc specialises in course that are a pain in the ass. For those who have been here since the the beginning of The Golf Club 2019, may remember q school and The low Course at St Proctor, a course that really made golfers really take it in the, well you know what I mean. The doc has returned with another course to make you bend over and take it like a man with East Proctor, a course where going up brings the pain, yes it’s elevation week on The Korn Ferry, something that some players hate more than a visit to Docproc, but what goes up most come down, but let’s be honest, that can sometimes be not the most pleasant experience either and now I have no idea if I am talking about the golf course or something else altogether. Anyway, Docproc himself will be a special guest at this weeks event to cheer you all on, although I hope none of you get two thumbs up from him today. In fairness though, the Doc worked very hard to become the designer he is today, he started at the bottom and worked his way up, he was never afraid to get his hands dirty and for that he has to be respected and maybe feared. So good luck everyone, have fun.

hmammoth love the introduction Dan, although you do make the course sound much more difficult than it actually is. Try to resist the urge of having a beer or two in the Slaughtered Lamb pub on your way round.
Enjoy the course people, I hope it’s kind to you

The slaughtered lamb might be best avoided if American, the last two Americans that visited, one ended up dead and the other ended up being turned into a werewolf, so enter at your own risk.

It's been my aim since I saw this course appear on the schedule to make sure I'm still here for it. I normally go in to these rounds blind but I've probably played East Proctor more than any other course in this game. It was the venue for our CUCC Ryder Cup a little while ago (where I had the privilege of teaming up with the designer Hootbleet in the fourballs), and I also had a rare win in a society event on it, so no excuses for me this week! He might have a dodgy taste in football teams but he's a quality designer, looking forward to taking this one on again I've ran out of time today so first round tomorrow night. Good luck all

Loading this course up and stepping on the first tee was like seeing an old friend, hello again East Proctor. Straight down the fairway off the tee, and I know this pin, it's all gravy as long as I don't hit a slow..... One slow and 3 putts later I'm +1, excellent. Thankfully 2 has always been a hole which has treated me well and I get the shot back straight away, but proceed to miss an easy putt on 3 to remain E for the round. I've got -10 as a target in these conditions, need to get going! I did for a short while, 3 birds in a row but then my putting woes returned and I missed a couple more short ones on 8 and 9 just reading too much break on them, -3 at the turn and struggling a little bit. Then it finally started going to plan. Made some nice approaches, holed a couple of really good putts and reeled off 5 in a row. Should have been better, I missed 2 more good chances at the tough 15th and easy 16th, but birdied 17 and finished with a very satisfying eagle at 18 to card a 61. All in all, can't complain. Enjoyed that

I’ll put my hand up, I’m not an elevation fan. That said I like this course a lot, the track suits the surroundings and it really feels like you’re in low Alps valley. It’s the little touches - the road going up the hill out of the valley etc etc Love the pub by the way.
Back to business. Rd 1- best I’ve ever played tee to green but missed 7 putts by an inch, including one which ran 35’ past the hole and cost me a bogey. Very disappointing -8. Rd 2 - played average but started holing putts -13
One day I’ll put both front and back together, we’ll call that the Liz Hurley day.
That ought to be enough to get me to the weekend. Note - thought the conditions were fair too.

Dammit, fair conditions, I must be losing my touch. I will change that for future events, everyone say thanks to Sam.

Finished with a disappointing -7 and will need a good rd2 to see the weekend. Elevation and 500+ yd par 4s can kick rocks!

Anyone tried to qualify for the US Open? I know there’s only a slim chance but last weeks course was good fun

Next weeks course is set up by me, so obviously they saved the best until last. I have not tried the past two weeks but might give next weeks one a go.

Avery fields was a lovely course, it was set up tough but that's what should happen for a qualifier. Have you scheduled next week's event at Klopp's Pocket (ha) ? I'll be giving this weeks qualifier a go on Twitch tonight, will play two rounds and then decide if its work continuing

Second round was a shocker, couldn't hole a putt. No bogeys, 13 pars, -16 at the cut. I reckon 1 or maybe 2 short. These 163's seem to do me every week, not quite sure why. A bit gutted to be honest, I thought I could do well in this one.
