I’ve been off stream lately due to problems I’ve been trying to get figured out with my current setup, and it’s been going on for a couple weeks, so I asked gdog, Crazycanuck1985, Doyley, @spartan4knight, and many other helpful folks with knowledge (because I have none) to help me buy parts for a new rig. This is what we came up with, and I hope to be starting the build next week! I’m pretty excited to see what TGC looks like with Ultra High settings turned on.

Uh....that's like a $3,000 rig, maybe more..the gpu alone is around $1,200...that can probably run the game at 150-200 fps...enjoy.

Damn, going to be a huge relief knowing you won't be dropping frames at critical moments in minesweeper!
Congrats on the sweet setup.

TGCTours.com forum rule #6b.1.3 - No posting of pornography on the forums. You know better VctryLnSprtsSpoiler alert, TGC isn't going to look much better than your old rig.

Weren’t elite controllers prone to API failures?
Nice Rig Eric. I got my rig 2 years ago and it’s lovely with everything maxed out on graphical settings. I turn on the game on my Xbox and it looks like a pile of puke

Yea, Elite controllers can be a problem, but I haven't modded mine at all, I just like the weight of it and I use the analog stick heads with the shorter shaft (yes, I know, TWSS). But I told the Admins right away that I was going to be using it in case I was pulled. Thankfully, I suck so bad at this game that I was never close to failing API. Haha

That’s be a great rig for DCS but total overkill if it’s just for tgc

That will be sweet for the new flight sim. Sorry off topic but it will.

Hey if money is no issue then why not. You do streaming so if you can make some of that money back by streaming over the next year you can write it off as a business expense! haha GPU and Monitor are the replacements to shave $1000 off this build that can handle anything over the next few years no problem. I'm cheap though lol. But I see it that GPU and externals are the easiest to replace/upgrade. Better to spend more on the CPU+mobo that are a bigger pain to upgrade. Also you are only running 1 monitor or using your current as secondary?

The monitor listed is the gaming monitor, but I’ll have two more 27” displays as well, but much more basic displays for PC desktop application.

That is an absolute beast!
32gb is totally unnecessary, but a nice luxury 😝👍
For anyone who wants a VERY solid machine, the new budget Ryzen 3300x processor stands up pretty damn well to its big brothers and to the all but the most elite of i5 and i7 intels.
Obviously Eric's rig there is going to have insane performance, but if you got the Ryzen 3, 16gb of ram and a mid level GPU, you honestly wouldn't be THAT worse off on performance, certainly capable of handling any game (maybe, maybe not high settings in everything, but probably fine) and save yourself well over 2 grand on all that!
Not saying Eric shouldn't have bought this, if you've got the cash, the amazing performance is a lovely luxury, just saying what people can get on a budget 👍

Honestly, I'm glad if this post helps people locate additional options at a more responsible price-point based on the conversation, I'm all for it. I literally know nothing about computers, so without the help of this community, I wouldn't know what to get. I basically asked my buds to create a powerful rig that could do anything I want for a few years without even a thought about performance, and this is what they came up with. Most of these components I didn't even pick out myself because I have no idea what I'm doing. I was getting info from coasterroyalty this morning about what a CPU liquid cooler even does, because I thought moisture was bad for computers. LMAO! Leon, Eric shouldn't buy most of the things he does, but that never stops him. Haha!
