Nice course, bud. The Donald Ross side of me is excited... Isn’t that every side of you?

What's the default time of day setting? Dawn I presume.
Anyway, really unusual lighting. Almost dreamlike, which was very interesting. There's really not much I think I could fault with this design, other than perhaps being a touch too friendly.
Will defo make a return at a different time of day as I'd be very keen to see the course in a different light too....and I'll give pin 4 (presumably the toughest) a spin next time.
Great work. Cheers.

Loved the deep in the woods feel of this one. Great job on the waste area texture and lighting. I know I had the place to myself lol but I actually felt like I was the first tee time of the day flying around with no one to hold me up. Really nice atmosphere you created here. So refreshing to play so many par 4s that I would consider “realistic” length as they tend to get a little lengthy on most courses. Good luck in the comp I’m sure we’ll be seeing this one on tour soon.

Really cool course, man. Like what you did with the surfaces. That coupled with the planting and lighting created a really nice atmosphere. Played all four pins with maxed out conditions and man it has some teeth. Have to admit when I saw the yardage i was skeptical about how it would play, but it was great. Every drive was interesting and unique. And your contouring on the greens offset the shorter approaches to create a formidable challenge for the cc-pro level guys. One critique would be a few of the greens might have been too shadowed, but I can't read greens anyway so maybe it's just me.
Should do quite well, good luck!

Just played this in my XB1 seniors society. Really great atmosphere. I am using default conditions with low winds and the scores are low so definitely suits the CC level.
An interesting use of the textures that I wasn't sure about to start with but it grew on me. Very natural feel.
Probably my only criticism is the way the water looks on the short curving par 4. It was too transparent for me. Pulled me out of the atmosphere a bit.
I don't know if it was an XB1 graphical glitch but some of the trees were twinkling like they still had the morning dew on them. Cool look even if it wasn't intentional!
Edit: BTW, I gave it 5 stars and a favourite.

Classic Petro here. Loved the unique feel around the course and all the planting.
Enjoyed my round a ton and set the xbox back tee low score.
Definitely a perfect definition of a cc level course in my opinion

I think to improve it I would have added a couple 200 foot downhill tee shots. It really felt like that's what the course needed. Also the lack of goats and crocodiles was a little offputting. A couple waterfalls could have gone a long way too.
On the plus side the hot dogs are good and reasonably priced.
Overall 3/7
Better luck next time?
***Obviously kidding, this course is of the highest quality start to finish. I hope I can eventually make something at this level.

T H E W E S T C O U R S E Pinehurst, NC
Published
Now published, the West comes in at 7,173 yards and is an absolute brute. It is designed as a TOUR alternative to the relatively easy CC course that is the East. However, it is very different. It is not built to Donald Ross plans, but is an homage to his work and features many classic Ross qualities. I still think East is better, but I'm curious as to where popular opinion falls.

Nice job on both of these courses, petro. I think I liked the west course slightly better simply because of the challenge but they are both excellent courses. Thanks for taking the time to make them!

I feel my best approach to this new West course is to use GIFs...... East Course: West Course: East Course: West Course: What a great pair of courses man! You struck a great balance between the two of them. If I wasn't absolutely terrible at this game, the West course would probably have been a little easier. I did have a stretch of three holes where I birdied... but the rest of the round was garbage shots on my part. Your course design skills are top notch sir! Ole' Donny would be proud!

Playing this tonight at 7pmEST on CUCC Xbox Friday night. Yes, I did mess with the lighting a bit for this round but we are old and have vision issues. Course is a good one and you should hopefully do well in the contest.
rhin04life and jones1974 are streaming.
