Hello everybody! I have now published my course from TGC 2019 onto PGA 2k21 called Doback-Huff CC (Tour). Since the planting meter can fit a bit more objects into this game, this version of my course is made for tournament style of play.
I have added grandstands, crowds, fenced off areas, and some minor changes in the design of the course as well; including new trees, change of bunker shapes and placements, and better routed cart paths and pine straw!
Also, below I attached some sneak-peak pics of my course from holes 2, 10, 14, 16, and 17!
I made a couple courses on TGC 1 and TGC 2 however Doback-Huff CC (Tour) took me nearly 10 months to complete as I am a bit of a perfectionist and I made sure every blade of grass and bump in the terrain was as realistic as possible.
Doback-Huff CC (Tour) is a challenging, yet fair course for all players. Though a fictional course, I did my best to make it as realistic a course as possible. As it is meant to be located in a secluded, wooded, location (preferably western Ohio). The fairways are mildly firm with considerable roll, while slightly narrow. The greens are firm but with room for error, though moderate break shall be expected with all 4 of the different pin locations (Pin 1 is the hardest). Sand bunkers around the greens and along fairways are plentiful and soft, though forgiving. There is a first cut of the rough that outlines the fairways and greens with heavy rough playing long/deep and unkind to an inaccurate tee-shot. Water comes into play on a total of 8 holes but can be viewed on many others, with retaining walls detailing and weaving its way along the edge of the waterlines, (water holes include: 3, 4, 8, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18). Then beautiful bright red pine straw intertwines below much of the treelines within the course layout. Cart paths can be found on every hole as well with a covered bridge on the 13th.
Some housing developments come into view on the back nine as well, with an enormous and luxurious clubhouse overlooking the 18th. The clubhouse comes with a roundabout entrance and a full patron gallery built onto the backside, facing the 18th green. Also a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and full bar area come with the outside festivities of the clubhouse. A full practice putting and chipping greens can also be seen behind the 18th green, with a full-scale driving range with 6 practice greens, ranging up to 350 yards winding along the protected road entrance that makes its way up to the clubhouse. Also, attached to the outdoor festivity area/patio, a multi-tiered 120-foot-long infinite fountain that overlooks the 18th. I have studied and played many courses made on this game in the last year or so as that played a part in my design process.
The overall course terrain has many hills as shots will be hit uphill and downhill by up to 50 feet or so. There are 5 different sets of tee boxes for different levels of golfers, with the tips, gold (tournament) tees playing at 7,380 yards. There are five par 3’s, eight par 4’s, and five par 5’s, to complete my par-72 masterpiece that is Doback-Huff CC (Tour).
As stated before, grandstands and additional crowd areas have been added to this PGA 2K21 version of the course to give it a tournament feel! The crowds have great views of every hole and will give the player a true tournament atmosphere while golfing at my course!
It is my hope that everyone plays and enjoys my course and any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Now… go tee it up!
