Here is my contest course for the 2020 Challenge Circuit design competition. Brazoria National is fictionally located in Brazoria County, which is in the Gulf Coast region of southeast Texas. The course has 4 sets of tees with the tips coming in at 7,259 yards. The course may seem straight forward but most pin locations require shots from a preferred area in the fairway in order to close. Also on the property is the 9 hole par 3 course "Brazoria National (Par 3)". The short course has 2 pin sets. The 1st pin set allows the classic use-the-slope shots to get close for an ace. Pin set 2 has smaller landing areas on the greens requiring a more direct shot at the pin. Adjacent to the par 3 course is a 9 hole disc golf course for those who rather play with frisbees than some small balls.
This is my 1st competition course so I just want to thank everyone and say good luck to those who are also in the competition.
Also, I've never been great at posting pics on here (PS4), if Karma has the time to help me out with some of his world class course pictures, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey AndyMike8,
I enjoyed my round last night on your course. The course was very fair and playable, especially for a player with my average skills. Loved the hole layout and sculpturing. Best of luck for the design competition.
Regards Rick

Thanks Rickster for the play and comments! I appreciate it. I also just published Brazoria National (Club). The Club version is more difficult with the tees pushed back and the green speeds bumped up as well.

This is a great publish. No doubt, absolute tour stop. Nothing negative to say about this one. It's so hard to keep up with all of the courses being released, and I'm glad I played this one before I lost track of it. Great job! Routing is great, and difficulty is perfect. Everything looked very polished. I have no doubt this will rank high in the competition.

If @babybull says it's good, that's all I need. Next course I play for sure. Plus your gif game is strong.

15eicheltower9 makes a good point, I rarely give courses praise. Brazoria National is lucky to have received such a rare(albeit fleeting...) honor, such as my positive comments. Positivism is a weakness... and a small part of me regrets exposing such a weakness for Brazoria National. andymike8 I expect this deviation in my usually negative predisposition will be chalked up as purely luck on your part...

Don't worry @babybull , I hold your feedback on my course in the highest regard because I know that all of your positive comments on every course, other than mine, have been complete sarcasm... Gotta stay strong, notaburneracct . Oops tagged the wrong person..

Sorry if I wasn't clear. Definitely see how that reads wrong. Didn't mean that you're negative at all. It's more about you as a designer. If a guy that creates tour worthy courses one after another says this course is tour worthy, i'm taking notice. And I tagged you to keep the convo going here and i'm glad I did because this course is a gem. It deserves more positive feedback and the pga thread isn't really the place for that. Really nice job andymike8 and good luck in the competition.

All good 15eicheltower9 , as you know, text doesn't carry sarcasm well. Without a sarcasm button, I probably seem like I am struggling with bi-polar disorder. I should probably tag my signature with your "Do not take the above post seriously." tag, but then people would think my positive comments are in jest. LOL Can't win with words! Anyway, I agree about this course. Anybody that wraps their bunkers in light rough is gets a thumbs up from me. I worked at a golf course when I was younger, and I was responsible for bunkers at my course. Which is also why I tend to go with simple shapes for bunkers on my own courses... to give the younger me a break. As for this course thread....

You'd love working at Alphasand Dunes, @babybull. The bunkers are maintained by mother nature. Instead of rakes, we have winds. We let the grass do what it wants.
Did I mention its also on tour?

15eicheltower9 I think there has been a lot of unrealized sarcasm in this thread, but I really appreciate the kind words and the bump either way. And Alphasand is a fantastic course btw
