Delighted (and slightly surprised!) to see so many nice comments about the course here. Glad people appreciated the challenge I dont "Favorite" a lot of courses, but Kegusta is on my Favorite list. Question- Did you pick the wind speed and direction? a couple of holes in rd 2 and rd 3 the wind seemed to go against the design of the hole. The biggest frustration for me (outside of my self induced horrid putting) was the 6 or 7 times a tee shot landed in the middle of the fairway and trickled into the heavy rough. My feet and or heel of the club would be in the fairway- and the ball is slightly in the heavy rough- resulting in a 60% lie. Then it's a fight, and I played those holes to a +3.

I set lighting and weather to avoid it looking dreadful, that was it. The course wasn’t really designed with any specific wind direction in mind but I do know downwind tee shots on 12 and 14 will be... thought provoking.

I am sorry Ben, I love your work but in my opinion only a masochist will enjoy playing Kegusta. I think it is beautifully done but I hated every minute of it. Got through two rounds at a total of -5, but after two consecutive tee shots in the water off the tee on #3 I said f**k this - I wasn't going anywhere anyway. Maybe the next promo will be more enjoyable - I know they are supposed to be hard but I thought this course went a bit too far, at least for Pro club users.

No need to apologise, Mike; you're welcome to your opinion. I don't enjoy building simple courses - you have to think your way around them and if you're out of position (usually taking the easiest tee shot), you will leave yourself in tough spots. That said, a number of holes here leave you with wedge in hand, so it's plenty scoreable. Did I expect the course to be on the Promo? Nope, but it appears to have separated the field nicely and I'm pretty happy with how it played.

I thought until there was smoke coming out of my ears Ben, but for me there were just too many places where if you hit a shot where you wanted it kicked or ran off into that very punitive rough. I am not a very good player so it is probably down to my ability, but thinking had nothing to do with it.

I would normally have been part of the enemies of such a course. I don't like when fairways/green landings are as "unfair" as those described by Mike and I have suffered a few of those very unlucky bounces at this tournament too. But I have to admit, I like the idea of using it at a Promo event. We are now "millions" of players at TGCT and they have to somehow manage enough separation at the leaderboard. I prefer this than scoring a -40 and not promoting. Everybody knows those societies where you need four -15 rounds in order to have a chance to win the tournament. If you promote in this event, you REALLY deserved it But don't get very frustrated if not, this course + conditions are for real masochists!

Yea with the majority of the spots being on the pro tours.. it was picked specifically for Masters clubs..

I took about 6 weeks away from this game, got sucked into Cities Skylines and can't get away from it. Played no golf whatsoever and have banished myself from Master clubs as I grew tired of the tempo issues, game was no longer fun having a round destroyed by multiple very fasts in a round.
So today I took off the pro clubs clubs, strapped myself into Master clubs and went right into the Promo event, no practice, no warmup, no getting re acclimated to master clubs..just jumped in cold after several weeks of no golf.
It didn't go so well.
I kind of rushed this putt and deserved to miss it. The double bogey one of the par 5's was more painful lol

I really enjoyed that course. Beautiful. Wish I could have hit more putts overall, but a -13 rd4 put me at -31 overall. After a couple nasty stretches I was mostly in rd3 I never would have imagined getting myself in a position to get promoted. Let’s see if that moves me off of KF.

Well... Crashed and burned. -7 -4 E +1 -10 final. Not sure if that will be enough to even move me out of F. Tough course, loved every minute of it though.

Well if the projections turn out to be a close approximation, then the Hunt for the Golden Cow might move to the Euro Tour for its next season. I had -28 after a horrible first round.
