R3: -9 grind round, 187 greens with high winds. R4: -9 that H8 pin ? (par 3 over water into a bowl) was diabolical.
Total -31 #4 on the PS4 R4 Leaderboard... and I may not make the cut.

I have no idea how people hold off and stagger their rounds through the week, so even though i said i wouldn't, i played rounds 2/3/4 last night.
Round 2 - First time i've played with a ghost play, no need to guess who i chose. Eric's ghost is working overtime! It didn't really help with lines etc but added an element of competition. -7 after 9 but could only finish at -8. That front nine was probably the best golf i've ever played Round 3 - Went cold and knew it early on. Every putt seemed to be across the hill and i put it in the water on 18 to pick up a double bogie. Finished -2 Round 4 - Good golf and a sprinkling of luck resulted in -9
All in all a good week, the swing line is showing strong improvement, i need to stop leaving myself 50-80 yards out and start aiming to finish below the hole.
Good luck out there
p.s - the 18th is an excellent finishing hole, is there a better one? Great aesthetics all the way down the hole, you have a chance of an eagle to save a round or there's enough danger to ruin a round, short enough to have a go in all wind directions and tempting enough to always have a go

If you gave an infinite number of monkeys typewriters (OK laptops with word processing software) and infinite time I doubt they could come up with words to describe how inconsistent I am with the Master clubs, and how I manage to get off to decent starts before collapsing like a marathon runner who decided it would be a good idea to do this one dressed as a rhino in 90 degrees and 90% humidity. They also would not be able to accurately describe how much enjoyment I get out of these rounds every week I love the enhanced challenge and I also love the courses. hmammoth consistently picks courses which look good and play challengingly. I absolutely loved this week's offering and every round got out to quite a few under par before surrendering my gains on the closing stretch. I missed fairways, found bunkers, got slow downswings on the par-3 across the lake when trying to stretch the more lofted club. That final hole is, as Riotous says, fantastic risk and reward. I got almost entirely risk and was rightly punished on at least three occasions. For the record up mup kupen nup I was -6 after two rounds and finish -4 for the week. Even Art Vandelay couldn't shouldn't fail to beat that.

Well that's a pleasant surprise this morning! There's a few of us in this thread hastily unpacking our golf bats and checking back in to the motel, although not sure I can cope with any more waffles. -13 looks to be in, happy days! The waitress is nice though, can I have syrup with that?

Love that hole. I also thought that Par 3 over water (R4) was pure evil. you have to barely clear the water to stay in the bowl. so either you hit the bowl and it's an easy birdie, or you miss the bowl, putt off the green-chip up and take your bogey. looks like -13 is safe, bags unpacked. I'll have fun for once watching the leaderboard the rest of the week (with the -18 on the back half).

The special event could not have come at a better time. I hopped on and knocked out 3 rounds with no concern about my score, just work on getting right. I think I'm on the right track? -7 for the 1st round and the shots felt good. The back 9 slowed me down a bit, some tough holes. Love the course and hope to FINALLY make a weekend after 2 tries back. Need the confidence boost so I can brag to my wife about my virtual golf game!

Round two was a nightmare, I had not control of the stick what so ever. It was not the controller, my thumb just would not do what my brain told it. If I was hitting the ball just right, or just left, I could have adjusted but it was different each time, drives, approach’s, putting, all were effected. I finished +4 and to be honest, thrilled with that, I was +3 after just two holes. To keep the score to just +4 was pretty good. Hole 18 was terrifying with that pin position and a disobedient thumb but it sure was fun.

What could have been. 2 10 ft birdies that lipped out and a very avoidable bogey in the last 5 holes kept me from a special round. I still ended at -8, -15 for the event and heading to the weekend for the first time in a long time. Feeling better and better after each round.

-13 at cut. -24 total Couldn’t make any putts. Not sure how it seems that every putt was a sidewinder. Apparently I need to try to put myself in better position to give myself straight uphill putts. Oh well.

Riotous If you're giving yourself an eagle chance on the 18th I want to know what clubs you're using?! It's a 510 yard par 4 😂. Agree it's a great finishing hole though. I'm back in the waffle house. Where I completely lost my touch with the putter in round 2 on the 163's I had it bang on for the last two rounds on 187's. Played really well in the tough round 3 conditions, scrambled and lag putted as well as I have in ages and when I gave myself a birdie chance I generally took it. Round 4 I struggled a little bit at the start to get going but then had a good patch in the middle. Sadly a couple of lip outs and then a bogey at 15 derailed my charge and I kind of limped home. Got to be pleased with my week though. First cut made for a month and one of those three demotion marks removed. I felt I left at least 6 shots out there in round 2 with my putter, massive bonus to play the weekend after that. 64, 65, 62, 64 for a -29 total

I really need to concentrate more

Solid if unspectacular three rounds and a strong final round, finally, for a -31 overall. up mup kupen nupAs someone who is a big fan of Congressional, I used to live near there, it was a really well done course except for the lighting in the second round, lol.

This week was a total pull your hair out week for me. Like always, 3 pretty nice rounds at Kegusta with one disastrous one so no dice there. Then play this tournament and felt like nothing was consistent for me. Nothing dropped. Just one of those weeks. -5/-6 for -11 and early exit.
Guess I’ll be here for a while and to be honest I’m not disappointed at that. Best tour in the game thanks to the good weekly chatter here. Makes it much more fun.
Good luck this week everyone.

When the IRL courses like Congressional are put on TGC are the fairways narrowed etc or are the courses as like for like as possible?

Nice moving day and a big jump up the leader board with Giraffe72. Despite the 1st round (front 9) melt down, an outside shot at a top 10 is possible. For the Promotion event, -25 (112 putts, and 28 missed putts under 19', ugh), but looks to be really close to the Euro Cut line. I'm with rfitzgerald11 though and I like it here, no big deal if it doesn't happen. After all my Society rounds where there's a nice mix of PGA, Euro, and KF- I've found from the bottom third of PGA thru KF the difference is minuscule.
