Toby’s Rock is my third design for TGC 2019, but it is my first entry into any course design competition. It is a fictional design set in a mountain pass and routed through very rocky terrain. You will wind in and out of the shadows of the mountains and trees, but all greens and bunkers are mostly clear of shadows for better tournament play. The course has three tee positions to match the club sets for TGC 2019, but it is playable by any club set from any tee. The course gives players options regardless of weather conditions or pin placement. It is designed to be an enjoyable round with the possibility of low scores with the correct strategy, and has a mixture of par 4’s and 5’s that could cause a lot of movement on a tournament leaderboard. It is a standard par 72 with 4-3’s, 4-5’s, and 10-4’s. ** Update: Toby's Rock (Tour) version now available as a request of The Casuals society. It is an additional version, with crowds and cameras, that is not part of the submission to the CC Design Contest. **
***Contest Update: I was honored to see that Toby's Rock earned a Semi-Finalist position in the contest. I appreciate the effort put into this contest by the organizer and judges. Also, special shout out to b101 for the video playthrough with great constructive criticism!*** Thank you to Avakrac, Karma4u, Inflames47, ChasW, Gregfordyce, Pozbaird, Lessthanbread, Hmammoth, Smudge22, ChrizZcE, Jwtexan, Bullete, Reebdoog, Terry Grayson, Rhino4Life, Coruler2, Heisenberg, Mattf27, Hallzballz6908, Maabhen, RockManDan, Miska7, Eskilw, and Slicermcduff for the support and constructive comments on my second release, Lulu Lagoon. That’s my evening’s entertainment on a wet Scottish lockdown Sunday sorted then.... a cold beer, a packet of tortilla chips, and a round on your new course. The photos look great. You are getting a lot of praise on these forums for your courses, and rightly so. Enjoy it, you have a keen eye and that course design ‘x factor’.

Great work once again Babybull. The detail and time you put in to every hole is very clear. Congrats again and best of luck.

Just played. I could highlight all the aspects of your latest course that were ‘wow’ factors, but I won’t. All I need to do is to mention the trouble you went to in designing the practice area with multiple practice greens behind your clubhouse. An area that no-one will ever see in normal gameplay. That sums up the environment you have created, throughout the entire course. Like Lulu Lagoon - an all-ecompassing lush environment and a thoughtfully laid out course to boot. Bravo sir, again!

I have no idea how you didn't run out of plant meter. The course seemed so full, well done!

pozbaird - Thanks again for the support, and for posting your thoughts. I know sometimes I will wonder around peoples' courses with the scout cam, so I try to add some stuff for people like me to look at! Heisenberg - Thank you for the kind words man! I like your eye for eye-candy, so it's good to hear that you enjoyed what you saw on my course. Thanks again for the support. chasw - I'm thankful for your comments on my bunkering in the past, so I tried to step my bunker game up a little. I changed the bunkers on hole 5 immediately after our last exchange, and I feel they are much better because of it. Thanks again for the feedback! GolfTek - Thanks for the compliment. It's something that I struggle with because I want to extend the detail I have around the course further out away from the course, but the detail/object meter prevents me from doing that. I know consoles can't handle it, and that's why the meter is there. However, I kinda wish there was a way to go passed the meter threshold. Thanks again for the comments!

Another gem dude! I live in the Rocky Mountains and man did you really nail the look you were going for. You really put together a lot of really great strategic holes on this one. I had to use the caddy cam(B button on Xbox) a lot to try to figure out all the different elevations. Add in the medium-high winds and it made for some real butthole-puckering tee shots lol. I played aristea skies the other night and It’s been cool to see how much you’ve grown since your first course even though it was good as well. I think you like rocks more than Tyrone Biggums lol. Keep raising the bar man!
P.S. The high winds combined with the sunken trees for bushes made it look like there were bears doin’ the deed just off the greens. How the heck am I supposed to chip with that going on C’mon man!

Played on twitch this evening and loved what you have done, looks great and more importantly plays great. You’ve aimed it at CC and in my opinion you’ve hit the spot, I‘d say this will take some stopping in the competition. Look forward to seeing where you can go with this game

hallzballz6908 - Yeah... I have an unhealthy addiction to rocks. I've been saying "My next course will have less rocks" for a while, but the amount actually seems to be increasing... Maybe the next course will have less rocks. Thanks for the kind words and the support. Sorry for the bears. It's spring time in the mountains... it's just nature, right?!? lessthanbread - As always, you rock sir. Thank you for the comments and support. I've watched your entry slowly mature, and I feel it's going to be a stunner. (insert "Don't you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby!" here) Riotous - I was able to watch the video. Thank you for the play and the comments. I totally agree with the constructive criticism you provided during your round. I look forward to building on my skill set, and stepping up my design game for the next publish. Thanks for the positive comments in the Stream as well. I try to improve using positive and corrective feedback. I'll try to keep hitting up your stream when I see you online.

“I hope you all have courses! Beautiful, well-sculpted courses with nice greens! Then an earthquake happens and messes ‘em all up! I pray you know that hurt and that pain!”
And babybull, never stop rockin’!
