all I can tell you is the new controller is showing a zig-zag because that is what you are probably doing and the old one wont show a zig-zag because it's worn, I know it's not what you want to hear but that is the truth.
If you DQ it's not just you that suffers, your team mates will as well.

If you DQ it's not just you that suffers, your team mates will as well. Two weeks ago the controller felt smooth and I was getting straight lines consistently. Now the controller feels gritty and maybe 1 in 10 are straight. The controller definitely feels like it has an issue. I bought that controller 18 months ago and have hammered it every day since. Prior to that I didn't play as much so the old controller would definitely have less hours in it. The only way to know is to try it out. I got 0 points last week for my team and I struggled quite a bit and it feels like it is getting worse. So I can keep going with this one and continue to go down hill, or I can try something different. I will take it under advisement from my team mates and see what they think is the best thing to do

The only rounds where you can DQ is the CC-Pro. I had similar issues just over a month ago. My original controller which I had played with for a year or more was very free swinging and I felt great with it. A couple of months playing Red Dead Redemption and a love of fishing in that game mashed the right stick. I started getting the aiming cursor drifting, all sorts of weird response lines and putting was a nightmare as the aim point would just head off to160ft. I could barely control menu selection.
I had another controller, sold online as a genuine PS4 Dual-Shock but turned out to be a knock-off. I used it for one round and was immediately DQ'ed (that's how I knew it was a knock-off) costing myself and more importantly my team points. This ultimately meant that we did not have a chance of the title in the final week. If you do not have a functioning legal controller and embark on CC-Pro rounds knowing this is the case, a dim view would be taken.
My suggestion would be to try the paper clip reset on the one that is misbehaving (although it did nothing for me). If that doesn't work play a round on a different tour (say CC-Am) and ask the admins nicely, through the closed ticket creating thread, to perhaps have a look and see if the controller you proposed to use would pass API. It may take them a little while but usually they will try.

I didn't know they could get the API from a tour you are not in. I thought they only got the information from the tour that you are registered with.
The other controller is definitely genuine as it came with the console and the reason I believe the other one is faulty is that the zig zags I'm getting I don't think are actually possible. It's not just one link, it looks like an ECG print out. Plus the gritty feel that has come up over the last week or so
I will see if I can grab some screen shots to demonstrate.
Anyways I have asked my team what they think the best thing for me to do is so I will go with what they say.

I'm going to play the cc-am tonight and request an API check and wait until I get an answer before paying cc Pro next week.
Thanks for letting me know. I thought you could only get an API check on your registered tour

This exactly what I did Greg after my DQ, I bought a new controller then played the CC-am event to confirm with the Admins that my new controller would meet the API criteria, and they got back to me very quickly.

Sure that my wacky mouse swing do not need a check. I played CC Pro this week and will end with such a bunch of red pills that I can offer my wife a nice coral beads necklace
Down to CC-E and I cannot see why I couldn't go down to CC Am.
There really no fun for me in those tourneys. If I happen to be involved again in a Dirtbags season, I will play there but certainly no more for a TGC leader board until 2K1.

@sirwade59 Wade, I liked your course. Next time, I will try to play it from the short grass. My report is on the rough and it played like sh%$. I had 70-72% lies most of the time. For a bit, I thought I was playing real golf. You should keep designing.

It is a great course, and when I did find the rough (which was frequently as IGolfBad can attest to) it was lush and full of life! Actually made a few chirps from the lushness. @sirwade59 I hope you find time to design again, this one felt like being back in southern Virginia. Cheers!

Well my controller has been giving the green light by SmilingGoats. He said that all rounds passed easily.
That means i can officially blame my the controller ive been using for my performance in recent weeks.
now i just need to perform better next week to justify the switch.

Art Vandelay billybudd0623Thanks Guys, I'm glad you enjoyed your round.....at least somewhat lol. I just published a desert course called Dylan Dunes. I tried to capture the Las Vegs Desert feel. I am also currently working on a tropical course in Hawaii. I was going to take a break after the desert course but jumped in again lol. I currently have 4 holes done. Are these fictional or Lidar Wade

Are these fictional or Lidar Wade Desert Course is fictional the tropical one I'm doing is a version of the real course. There is no Lidar data for it so I am using google earth. I won't call it an RCR because I don't want to do it an injustice lol. You can create a flat course using Chad’s tool just trace it out on openstreetmap and output it as a flat course file. Than you know at least the holes are accurately placed.

I just finished round two on Wade's course and was happy with my performance. If I could have made a put over 10 feet I would be in first place on the PS4 leaderboard, but no. Score was helped thanks to a HIO on the 204 yd par 3 #16! Unlike Johnny I don't get that many aces. Since Les and Wade have made Lidar versions of their home courses for DbyD's enjoyment I have decided to do the same. I am in the process of building The Trophy Club located in Lebanon, IN. This is a Tim Liddy design (Tim worked and studied in Pete Dye's shop before going out on his own) that I have played at least 500 times, so you know I like it . It is rated as one of the top public courses in Indiana by several golf magazines and websites

I didn't know you could do that! Yes mate you can saves tracing it out using a program on PC or measuring everything. Just do exactly as you would do on OSM for tracing the course but don’t download any Lidar then use Chad’s tool to output a flat plot, it uses your trace from the course.

Celtic Wolf well done Pat you beat me this week with a great second round. I made too many errors with the chip couldn’t get used to the 71% lie’s round the greens with the chip shot. Having said that I just missed the pitch on the last for eagle that would have squared us.
