Well that was an extremely strange 4 rounds.....
Had no control of my swing line at all - nice straight black line on the way back, then every single swing (including putting and short game), the first half of my downswing was so far outside the cone on the right. The second half then either stayed outside to the right, or whipped across to the left.......seemingly randomly in both cases.
Then had some wierd short game issues too - several putts absolutely flew off the putter face, straight through the break; a couple of flops that went nowhere, a couple of chips that went miles......
But a lot of decent stuff emerged too (no idea how) - and will be hoping that -9 and -13 for -22 at the cut is enough (if not, I'm going to be very pissed off at taking three to get down from 5yds at the 36th hole!)
Boring -8 in R3, then a great start to R4 (eagle-birdie-birdie) and a great finish to it as well (birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie).......unfortunately I was +2 for the middle 10 holes!!!!!
-37 for the week therefore.
VH winds were fine (even when a 7i only goes 132.....) Greens at 171 were right on the edge of legality / fairness - but ok.
Only slight criticism would be that very firm greens weren't needed for all 4 rounds - but overall, pretty fair / playable.

-8 -12 start for me ... Hit the ball well but putted inconsistently and that will probably cost me the cut

Well,
my calculations were a bit off,
my swing was inconsistent in many ways (tempo and direction)
my play on the greens was maybe mediocre, probably statistics say my putting was baaaad.
Having said that: I missed the cut by a mile. I don't even remember my exact score. First round was -7. I think 2nd -6.
A week to forget.

I don't mean to hijack the thread and get on this tangent again, BUT... for those of us that have been really struggling to make cuts lately I can't tell you how pleased I am to have loaded up the game this morning to see that we have Very High winds AGAIN early on. Hey, I have a suggestion, why don't we maybe wait to get in your Very High Winds jollies for, I don't know, maybe round 3 or/and 4 so the best can battle it out in those conditions for top placement. I swear we have had more Very High Winds in the last month than the real life tour had all season last year. It's ridiculous. My 2 cents.

While I agree that high winds have definitely been excessive lately, the comparison to the real tour seems a bit silly. Just in the last 2 tournaments combined I’d be willing to bet there were more sub 60 scores than there have ever been in entire history of the PGA. But I’m just glad there are no shadows on the green this week.

Never going to be able to compare scoring in this tour to the real life tour, can't control that, but we can control realistic conditions. Also, high winds is one thing, very high is another.

I agree there too. The very high winds seem to affect the ball inconsistently compared to high winds.

Played rounds 1 & 2 this morning and I actually felt the VH winds were suited for the course and the direction didn’t turn par 4s into par 5s or anything silly. The course layout and being open gives you the ability to play for the VH winds unlike some others.
Not sure -19 makes the cut this week but I didn’t mind the setup at all for the first 2 rounds. Good job here Tyler.

Course setup this week was fair. Been in better form this week but and theres always a but. The first 27 holes this week absolutely killed me. Hit it great but my putting deserted me. Shanked putt after shanked putt left. First round -9 with 7 missed putts inside 8ft left me raging. I started 2nd round and 3 putted 1st for par. Rolled in 20ft on 2nd then missed a 5ft putt on 3. Managed to scramble to -6 after 9 and turned it off. Played a few alt shots and had a few beers then decided to go again. Game still solid and managed to get to -45. Putting was 100% short( std). 77% medium(horrendous) and 58% long(buzzing) My putting is really costing me atm but hey ho. Im healthy and we go again. Good luck all to play and stay safe ppl!!!

-14 in the practice round (high winds) but we're all class in practice.
-7 in R1, swing was really good but it's still about what I expected with how ass I am in VH winds Was excited about R2 conditions but I stumbled to a -9 finish. Swing was all over the place.
Assuming I miss the cut at -16, which will make it my 5th in a row, rough patch of form.
All the best this week folks

For the first ever time i decided to play turn based for the 1st round (used your ghost Rob4590) the reason mainly was to try and slow down my game and hopefully make me concentrate more (by the way that was a horrid 3 putt you had from close - felt for you there)...started great, -7 thru 9, hit it close and holed the putts, 2nd 9 i lost my way and basically par'd in for -8 which was very disappointing considering i only had 20 putts Gave up on ghost play from there and played my normal quick game for the other 3 rounds, enjoyed the course, getting used to the high winds bit by bit..
Going to be right on the cut line i think, but if i make it, will make up some ground as played the 3rd and 4th rounds a lot better
-8 -9 -13 -10 (40 total)
Good luck everyone and be nice to Windy Tyler

Just the three so far:
With metronomic reliability - Genty and Hynonen picked up their 6th (sixth!) DQ in a row... Joined by a new member fresh from the Euro with his first pull, or push, whichever way you look at it. Welcome to PGA, I suppose :/
