Lulu Lagoon is a fantasy course set on a tropical island with a rock-lined lagoon. The front nine plays like a traditional, tropical resort design, and the back nine is routed around the lagoon. While it is over-the-top in its style, this course is designed to be fun to play. You have plenty of options off the tee on most holes, and the large undulating greens are forgiving if you land close to the pin. I designed it using firm and fast greens, but toned it down for the final release. I tried to design it to give positive and negative effects for any wind direction. Also, I tried to make the pins progressively more difficult as they go from 1 to 4, but 3 and 4 are about equal in difficulty. This is my second release for TGC 2019, and I feel it is a step up in quality from my first design, Aristea Skies. I had a great time designing this course, but still have a lot of room for improvement as I learn this designing program. Here is the virtual course tour I created using a technique Jeremy Mayo told me about involving hole fly-bys. I made the mistake of recording the fly-bys at the beginning of the playtesting phase, so a lot has changed, but it still gives a good look at the course's feel and overall aesthetic. Thank you to Avakrac, ChasW, Chiefranja, Rhino4life, Gregfordyce, Linkslover, and Tanman9798 for the support and constructive comments on my first release. Also, thanks goes to Mayday91283, CrazyCanuck1985, VctryLnSprts, Mattf27, and Lessthanbread for the very informative Twitch Streams and YouTube videos about TGC 2019. As always, comments, suggestions, and questions are welcome. Just reply to this thread or contact me via the forum messaging system. Thank you and enjoy! *Signature hole changed from 15 to 13 due to player comments. Thank you all for the support, comments and suggestions.*

Will play tonight. I favourited Aristea Skies and just finished four rounds on it in my current Solo Society season. Very enjoyable, so looking forward to going loco on lulu.

We don’t see a lot of tropical courses so it’s nice to see one that’s so well designed and so much fun to play. As it’s a fantasy course, there are a lot of creative holes that add to the fun. All that rock work must have taken a hour or two. If I was to criticise anything it would be the ball attracting magnets placed in the bunkers. Completely unnecessary and unfair. I am also not overly happy that you copied my weekend cottage for the club house, there might have to be legal action. Outside that though, great work, it was a pleasure to play.

Good stuff here, possibly has some of the best waterfalls created in this game. Cheers.

Fantastic course! Better than any fictional course I have designed although a couple of my "Fantasy" courses could belong in the same league .I loved the time consuming work you put in to build the tiers on holes 4,5,11 and 15 and the waterfall on 13.The rock work throughout the course is outstanding.I put the course in my favorites and gave it a 4 star rating.I wish a 4 and 1/2 star rating option was available because it would have received that rating.I award very few 5 star ratings and this one was close.I have one suggestion regarding the bunkers, cosmetic wise, that I sent you in a private message.Excellent Job!!

This is a really nice tropical course. Only thing I wasn´t a fan of was the castle since I didn´t think it fit the setting. Otherwise congrats, great course. Well done!

pozbaird - Thank you for the kind words about Aristea Skies, and for checking out Lulu Lagoon. Let me know what you think! hmammoth - Thanks for the positive comments. Yes, the rock work took an hour or 50... The ball attracting magnets were on the fence, but I had room in the budget after building an exact replica of your weekend cottage for the clubhouse. Seriously, the fairway bunkers were made to be a little more difficult because the earlier versions were too easy for me, and I am terrible at this game. Ask anybody that has seen my name on a DAM event leaderboard... oh yeah, they haven't... unless they pressed R1 a few times to view the last page. I will try to find a better balance for fairway bunkers on future designs. Thanks again for the play! karma4u - Thank you for the great compliment! It means a lot from the man behind so many course screenshots. Thanks for giving a sample of one of the waterfalls as well! I will have to say that I relied heavily on the tutelage of Eric and Andre for making waterfalls. I will post the links for their YouTube videos for making waterfalls below. All credit for positive features of my waterfalls goes to them for the valuable videos. All credit for the negative features of my waterfalls goes to me for being such a noob! CrazyCanuck1985's Waterfall Tutuorial & VctryLnSprts Waterfall Tutorial chasw - As always, thank you sir for the kind words. Also, I did receive the PM about the bunkers. Very true sir. I will respond to it after this post. Thanks again GBC brother. smudge22 - Thank you for the high praise! I appreciate it! ChrizZcE - Thanks for the comments! I am huge fan of Frigiliana, Spain and The Predator at UF. Was going to reach out to you about those later, but you beat me to the punch. Also, I totally agree with the castle comment. It started off as a single beach hut, but then I thought that most of the course was so over-the-top fantasy, might as well throw in a castle, helicopter, and yacht. Thanks again for the kind words.

Managed to get my first round played. Loved it. Watching the fly-by on your Par 5s are amongst the best in the game. The 8th, where the vista reveals the rock mountains in the distance, and the double-waterfall vista of the 13th. The environment is great, you must have spent a crazy amount of time on your rock work. I zoomed in on your castle clubhouse, and even though you’d not normally even see it, you have spent time doing a proper jetty for the yacht, and a nice practice putting green and bunker. Clearly, you are a designer willing to spend hours, and take care, to get things as good as you can. Your castle clubhouse made me laugh - because if you play my recent new course Hogwarts Golf Club, then....
Five star favourite. If only I hadn’t got greedy at the final Par 5. 😀

Wow dude, for your second course that is absolutely insane in my opinion. It looks amazing and plays so well, that would have to the best looking fantasy island course i have seen and had the pleasure of hitting. Your waterfalls are spot on, planting is beautiful. How in the hell are you going to top that, but I'm sure you will. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. As a player i thank you for all the hours you spend in the designer to give us all such a masterpiece of a course.

pozbaird - Thanks for the comments about the par 5 fly-bys! Thanks for noticing the smaller details. I really enjoyed my time crafting this course, and learned a lot about the design program in the process. Hopefully, I will be able to get better with each published design. Bullete - Sounds great! Let me know what you think! inflames47 - Thank you for the kind words. I am honored and humbled this course was picked for a 2 day event for the Inglorious Basterds Society. That's awesome! Avakrac - As always sir, you did a great video. It really boosted my confidence in my skill set. However, it also made me think, "Crap... how am I going to top this reception for my CC Design Challenge course!?!?". Hopefully it will be received with similar apprecaition. Thanks again for taking the time to make such good overview videos!
