New designer here so don't laugh! My question, that I admit has nothing to do with playability or aesthetics, is the "compass direction vs. time-of-day" on my course are a little conflicting to me.
While designing I have set the round to be played in the morning at 8 a.m. There is a hole where an "east" wind is in my face yet I can see my player's shadow is in "front" of me? If I am facing into the east wind at an 8 a.m. tee time I would expect my own shadow to be behind me? On this hole if the sun is behind me at 8 a.m. and I am seeing my player's shadow, shouldn't it say that I am facing into a west wind?
I am probably over-thinking this, but if not that what am I missing in the design settings to get this to match-up?

The vertical position of the sun is controlled by the time of day and inclination settings. There is another setting (I forget what it's called) that controls the horizontal position of the sun around the plot. You can set the sun anywhere you want around the plot for any time of day. Might not be realistic but with the light settings it's more important to get the best look possible regardless of what the time says. Spending time playing around with the lighting and using it to highlight your best holes does wonders for the overall feel and impression golfers will get.

You'll also find that wind direction works the opposite of how it does in the real world anyway - in-game, the direstion is where the wind is blowing TO, while real life wind direction is stated as where the wind is blowing FROM.

That explains it then! Thank you very much.
