Not a good start unless you are hunting for the cow made of tin. Onward.

I thought I'd found the magic controller! I haven't. Third round started so well. I messed up the par 5 6th again after a slow on the approach followed by a fast flop out the bunker, but reached the turn at a decent -6. And then it so went to pot, couldn't find a good swing, couldn't hole a putt, some tough pins didn't help, dropped a couple of shots and only made one birdie to card a -5. Any thoughts of a high finish gone. To be fair it would have been a waste of a top 10 had I managed it, being as all I'm doing is wiping a red mark. Thought I might as well power through round 4 and move on. Nothing much to report on that one! Think I've ruined my putting stats for the week. 62, 60, 66, 64 for -32. The story is -26 thru the first 45 and -6 for the last 27. Onwards, with no red marks! The Par 5 6th is really good hole, you can go wide left from the tee to avoid the tree but that leaves a big club to the green, that tree on the right means you need to fade your approach shot but at least it's a mid-iron in your hands, there's no easy lay up for the second shot and on top of that its a tough green but a green that you can use the slope to get to the pins. Just a really good short Par 5 hole, and spoiler alert, i don't advise going the way Crazy Croc did (over the hole to the right), it's a long iron from there and you've got tall trees to get over!!

A -10 and -8 3rd and 4th left me with a respectable -32 overall, but watching the cut line creep closer and closer as I sit at -14 I expect to be on the wrong side of it come tomorrow.
Third round 2nd hole I recorded my first ace on tour...which once I miss the cut means I'll still be looking for my first ace on tour

I think I had -7 in round four to finish the week at -33. Will have to check again though.

I agree about the 6th Riotous, great par 5. I'm too weak to resist the temptation, second shot always brought this to mind for some reason?....

Well Art Vandelay I hope that this week I won't have to stay in that damp cellar of yours. If only I hadn't of been so abject in the short time I was on the tour I would have probably made the cut by a shot and once again as the sun dipped behind the clubhouse I snuck onto the course to see what I could do. I hadn't managed a decent start to my rounds previously but a birdie putting from the fringe followed by a chip-in from below the green then more straight forward birdies on holes 3-5. An outrageous 55ft downhill double-breaking snake for eagle on the par-5 sixth followed up with three more chirps saw me turn in a bewildering -10. The first par came at 10 then a bogey on 11 that was rectified immediately. Then four more birdies in the last 6 holes saw me card 57 for -14 and -29 for three rounds. I apologise for getting all excited about what may be routine for some but it was up there with my best round ever. Shame it only counts to the Hunt for the Golden Cow but it was fun. up mup kupen nup

Definition of hubris: exaggerated pride or self-confidenceIn classical Greek tragedy, hubris was often a fatal shortcoming that brought about the fall of the tragic hero. Typically, overconfidence led the hero to attempt to overstep the boundaries of human limitations and assume a godlike status, and the gods inevitably humbled the offender with a sharp reminder of his or her mortality. Pretty much everything that could go wrong did. I should have known on the first when I chose to lay up into the middle of the bushes sat in the centre of the fairway. A double on the 2nd and bogey on the third really cemented my fate. The gods were taking their vengeance upon me. I managed to turn in even par and even got to one under after 12. I never really got going and the chip for my third on the final hole which wandered past the flag and off the other side pretty much summed up why I just hunt for the Golden Cow rather than promo marks. up mup kupen nup

I'm with you honeybadger64, I went cruising into the final round looking for a potential top 25 spot and struggled mightily. Hats off to anyone who put together a solid under par round in the 4th. up mup kupen nup I finished -29 for the tournament. I started my practice rounds early for next week and hoo boy, if you like elevation changes, buckle up!
