Oh I choked it. It all started after three birdies, I get on hole #4 and miss a 5 foot birdie putt that rolls off the green and leads to bogey. Another 5 foot missed birdie and I take a 10 minute break. 95% swing on #11 and into the drink for another bogey and a VS from the bunker on 12 gives me my third of the day. Knocked a ball in the water on 13 with a slow backswing and barely made par. In the end I shot -6 with literally 5 shots just given away, three on just sheer stupidity, 2 on swings that normally don't happen.
My guess is the cut line will be -16 thus keeping me out by one. My own damn fault. This one is going to sting for a while. Should have not practices and just played. Probably would have scored -12

Well, I had a great round 1. I was hitting the ball well and only had a few tempo issues. Sadly they were one very slow and one very fast and I was able to get up and down for par on both of those. I really hit the ball well and putted pretty well. Shot -12 and am only 1 stroke back after the first round. Don't know what the lead in the clubhouse is or anything but hopefully I can hang around and be in contention going into the final round. Try to see if we can make a run for the XB1 guys! Good luck to everyone out there and keep shooting low. The conditions are tough but i think that's how it should be in a major!

Here are a few highlights from my week, featuring a hole out on 14 and then a trio of hybrids in the very high winds on Sunday. Stunning shots Tyler.
As a comparison, I hit a random very slow @ 7 and then missed a 6 footer for bogey.
Took the wrong club at 9 and came up short
And just didn't have the cojones to try and fly the bunker @ 18 so played to the right and missed the 15 footer.
It's weird because i played the high winds really well. As soon as it goes to very high territory i am all over the place.
I had been a really bad very high winds player until the last two weeks really. I think I missed a couple cuts last season just because of very high rounds. Feel like the more you just try to ride out the wind and hit more club, the better youβll play it. Itβs crazy how much more 17 mph does than 13. But we have a few weeksβ break of very highs now lol.

It's looking like a swing can't be so straight that it fails the api anymore. Clamp down on the side swipers but it's a field day for pin seekers and flickers. And what makes you say that

My round 1 had a little bit of everything... a 2 on #18.... birdies on 10 and 11... a nice solid 9 on 7....
Doyley good luck beating that!

And what makes you say thatΒ Probably the laser straight swings in your video. Just answering the question that you already knew the answer to, not trying to be a wiseguy. Well, maybe a little wisguy thrown in. Those were damn nice shots!

Well, maybe a little wisguy thrown in. Those were damn nice shots! Well I thought he could be talking about someone flicking that we could have no clue about. Just curious why someone *should* be pulled for having straight lines when it's not a flick or short swing. API was never supposed to pull someone with human input regardless of how straight it looked. The fact that it was happening was an issue and probably was tied in someway to flagging short swingers.

Hey Doyley, how many people actually are playing in The Masters? I ask because on the leaderboard, there is a whole bunch of people ranked 4000+ and a whole slew of them unranked. I'm assuming this is in error so I'm curious what is the actual number?

Well, after some grovelling emails to admin I was given some instructions and the go ahead to play this event under a different PSN (my daughters) for one week only. Managed -10 first round which could actually have been one or two better. R2 started bogey, par, got it back to -4 at turn and then double bogied later which again set me back, was -4 on 18th with a makeable putt, but shaved the hole. Have a feeling that may be costly. So watching the field sitting at -14. Does that scrape in for the weekend? Big shout out to admin for giving me the opportunity to play when I had made a balls up when first loading it up ππ»ππ»ππ». Thanks guys.

That was mighty nice of them. I wouldn't mind -14 being the cut line

I'm assuming this is in error so I'm curious what is the actual number? All PGA card holders got in - when we do these invite all it just scoops up the inactives too - most won't play so the real field is basically your average PGA field plus the 4 qualifiers. Cut at 50+ ties makes it probably the toughest cut on the schedule.

theduke21 definitely hit some quality golf shots, but that's what they were; skilled golf shots. Imho, anyone who's played this game for a while, or any golf game for that matter, should gradually master their own technique through practice, repetition, and muscle memory. Will everyone attain "duke" swing status? Most likely not, however, imo, they should be able to keep it within the blue cone, at whatever final tour they arrive at.
Here's a peek at my swing (I'd be curious to see others too!):

Nice video. I'll do this later. My technique is more of a "claw" style, something that someone who uses claw on shooting games would probably use if they were told to play video game golf. I've been using it on golf since I was probably 9 or 10 years old as well as on baseball games that do analog pitching. Basically my index finger guides it down and my thumb then pushes it up.

Have any of the amateurs made it past the cut?
Iβd say that would be a hell of an achievement if they did
