144 greens putt fine on a course where defaults are slower like in the 150-160 range. I think a good rule of thumb is to not use them if the default speed is above 163

Shot -12 in a practice round with the exact same conditions as R1 so I was optimistic after looking at the leaderboard. Opened with a -8 after half a dozen lip outs A -13 R2 made it slightly better but still might be cut watching Just the thought that I could be -25 now is infuriating, this is why I don't usually do practice rounds. Two more -8's to finish. Difficult track but still feels like I played horribly. Was all over the place with my swing. In the clubhouse at -37 but another day it could have been closer to -45. Ah well, sitting 26th on PS4 early Wednesday, hopefully will be good enough for top 50 overall? As for the greens - I have more of an issue with having a tournament with a round of M and a round of VF speed, too much difference and difficult to adjust. But I'm really not that bothered tbh. Good luck all

Why do I think that if you picked the venues for PGA and conditions, you'd still grumble about. Venue is fine mate. 144 greens should be outlawed. Have you ever putted on slow and/or very slow greens in real life? It's like playing plinko on carpet and you have to hit it harder which exaggerates any mishit misread.

A course like this with very pitched greens, sidehillers are a gamble from 10 feet, being set to moderate/moderate makes it more arcade-ish. As Fadge mentioned, being above the hole can be infuriating. Reminds me of launching the stone in Curling!

I really did think that -20 would make the cut, now I'm not so sure.

Best tourney for me in a while, I think - according to my finish relative to the PC leaderboard, at least. Round 1 was pretty "meh," but found a good rhythm in round 2 that I hadn't felt in a while and tried to carry that through the final 2 rounds, too. Putted really solidly, kind of stopped trying to over-read and just went with my gut reaction in some situations that worked out really well. Loved the 144 greens, but I've always been on the opposite side of that debate vs much of the consensus I read on here when we have rounds with slower green speeds. I think you have to make changes and adjustments to both green reading and how you strike the putt to help minimize the chance of that hover putt phenomenon (doesn't always work), but I've always seen those speeds as ones which allow me to be more aggressive with speed...I don't know, just fun to switch things up, makes approach shots a bit easier, too, and I've always liked rounds with those speeds every now and then. GL to all yet to finish. Hopefully I'll be able to snag a top 15ish this week, I really don't have a feel for where I'll end up anymore, but it's been a while since I've had a strong finish...so fingers crossed.

-24 at the halfway stage.
I haven't been playing too much lately, with the world the way that it is at the moment, I'm finding it hard to stay motivated to play games as much as I usually do.
Round one was a bit of a battle, so many missed fairways and greens, especially on the front nine. A couple of lucky chip-ins helped me out.
Round two was way better, I hit the ball pretty well and except for a missed pin high 8 footer on 17, I putted decently. A Seve-esque birdie on 12 from the trees after trying for the second fairway and crashing into a large pine! and a smart eagle on 14 were the highlights.
I've dropped my 2 wood and 1 iron and put in a 3 wood and 2 iron. That seems to give me a little more balance and makes the par 5's more straightforward.

In that case...I'll keep working at getting better (: Thanks Doyley. If I can stop flicking and compete so can you stop whatever wonkiness you've been doing and still compete. It's a rewarding feeling pulling off "straight" shots. You will enjoy the game more...eventually. Don't let these naysayers bring you down. How can you be sure that you’ve stopped flicking when you can’t see the feedback?

I pull back the joystick then push it through til I hit the plastic. We're not doing brain surgery here dude.

Again fadge. Don't feel compelled to weigh in on my every post. Control yourself. It will make you feel good. And anyways I quoted Cuse not you. And I thought you said you have a lot going on in your real life. I'm confused.
