A non write up week this week, with colleges closed it means a lot of extra work at home, in some ways, I have to teach myself so I have become both teacher and student. Anyway, this week we play West Forest Club by grovey31 . A completely different type of course from last week. Adam has supplied us with a challenging course with some interesting green complexes. Approach shots are key here, mistakes on approach and you will be making life pretty hard for yourself. Like I said yesterday, we do see the rare appearance of very high winds in round two. This is the round that decides if you make the cut or not. Good luck and have fun.

FYI, since I missed the cut last week, I have decided I will not take any chances anymore and finish in the top 10 this week.... πππππππππππ

Opening 2 rounds done. Putter was working again, yay! Round 1, was sitting on -11 after the 13th going great guns, boom, gone +2 over last 5, ...sigh... Round 2, lols, one time aimed what looked like 30-40 yards right of hole, ended up having a 35 footer for bird from left side of hole. Haven't learnt to read wind speed ever since I made it to KF, but this time I think it was blowing more than 10 mph! Enjoyed my rounds due to having much more success with the flat stick, missed possibly only 1, maybe 2 from inside 10 feet and made a few over 20 feet. Was just nice seeing them drop again -17 at the cut, could have been a shot or 2 better but i'll take it.

Played first two rounds and, even though I missed a few silly putts and had a three-putt bogey, I played solid.
-11 & -9 (absolutely love the windy round!!!) for -20 halfway
Donβt tell me I will miss the cut again.... ππππ
Best wishes Frans

Definately wont miss the cut with that! Some difficult greens on this course. Think i ended up -8 on the first round. Probably not too bad.

-6 on the second round. Should just make the cut? That was a difficult round with the heavy wind.

An average first round, i just to not give myself enough chances. Way to many 15 to 20 foot putts, I made some of them but it did limit my scoring. -6 for round one.

Not that this course is poorly made or anything, but am I alone in that this course was pretty bland?

Not that this course is poorly made or anything, but am I alone in that this course was pretty bland? I hear where you are coming from and agree, but (from memory) its got a consistent design and planting strategy round the whole course, so its the effect the designer was going for, and from memory the design execution is good. Only 2 Par 5's, which gives a 69 Course Par, we don't very often see that. Maybe that's also deliberate and works in with the 'Public Course' style And before you all congratulate me, please don't make a big deal out of me breaking into the WGR Top 500

-4 and -1 for me. I had a couple of nice hole outs. Most shots landed far away from the hole, though.

First round -1, every approach shot seemed to be between clubs. How anyone shoots -13 is beyond me. Will get round 2 over with tomorrow and move on

Missed a short putt on the 1st hole in round 1 and almost quit as i knew based on recent history that was the 1 stroke that would cost me making the cut. Anyway, i kept going and hit it ok but just had a tough time getting to pins in rd 1 and rd 2 wind was legit. On track to miss the cut by 1 or 2 i would guess for another kick in the balls...
-7 -5

Returning for my first TGCTours rounds in almost a year. Suggested quarantines and being told to work from home put a little bit more time on my hands. Took some practice time to get my swing back before teeing off for round 1. Slow start saw me even after 6 before I found my groove again, closed -8 through the last 12 holes, pretty happy with my first official round back on Tour. Hopefully can keep it up in round 2 to stick around for the weekend
