Our hospitals are not equipped for this. We cannot continue to pass this around without consequence. We just do not have the hospital space or the medical equipment available to handle this. Even if people catch it and are fine, they are still spreading the virus. The main difference is that this virus has a much longer incubation period than the typical flu. People don't know they have it. If this was like the typical flu, people who have the virus would know. They self-quarantine automatically. Not with this. People are walking around contagious for a week. Coronavirus is then times deadlier than the flu and 25% to 50% more contagious. Combined with the asymptomatic population spreading this thing, it's much more likely to spread. Stay the hell home. Hospital where my wife works had a doctor come back from vacation in Italy a few weeks ago. He showed symptoms of the virus and was told to go home and quarantine, instead he decided to go to a work function. People he was with there then showed symptoms. Wouldn't be surprised if the whole hospital ends up testing positive from it and it's one of, if not the biggest in the state. Probably no different from all of these halfwit kids on spring break in Miami not using common sense.

Some reading but unspecified as to who is saying it .....see below ...interesting reading though. .... Excellent explanation...take the time to read it.
The best explanation of why Covid19 is so dangerous. I actually understood it all. Takes 2 mins to read.
REPOST:
Feeling confused as to why Coronavirus is a bigger deal than Seasonal flu? Here it is in a nutshell. I hope this helps. Feel free to share this to others who don’t understand...
It has to do with RNA sequencing.... I.e. genetics.
Seasonal flu is an “all human virus”. The DNA/RNA chains that make up the virus are recognized by the human immune system. This means that your body has some immunity to it before it comes around each year... you get immunity two ways...through exposure to a virus, or by getting a flu shot.
Novel viruses, come from animals.... the WHO tracks novel viruses in animals, (sometimes for years watching for mutations). Usually these viruses only transfer from animal to animal (pigs in the case of H1N1) (birds in the case of the Spanish flu). But once, one of these animal viruses mutates, and starts to transfer from animals to humans... then it’s a problem, Why? Because we have no natural or acquired immunity.. the RNA sequencing of the genes inside the virus isn’t human, and the human immune system doesn’t recognize it so, we can’t fight it off.
Now.... sometimes, the mutation only allows transfer from animal to human, for years it’s only transmission is from an infected animal to a human before it finally mutates so that it can now transfer human to human... once that happens..we have a new contagion phase. And depending on the fashion of this new mutation, thats what decides how contagious, or how deadly it’s gonna be..
H1N1 was deadly....but it did not mutate in a way that was as deadly as the Spanish flu. It’s RNA was slower to mutate and it attacked its host differently, too.
Fast forward.
Now, here comes this Coronavirus... it existed in animals only, for nobody knows how long...but one day, at an animal market, in Wuhan China, in December 2019, it mutated and made the jump from animal to people. At first, only animals could give it to a person... But here is the scary part.... in just TWO WEEKS it mutated again and gained the ability to jump from human to human. Scientists call this quick ability, “slippery”
This Coronavirus, not being in any form a “human” virus (whereas we would all have some natural or acquired immunity). Took off like a rocket. And this was because, Humans have no known immunity...doctors have no known medicines for it.
And it just so happens that this particular mutated animal virus, changed itself in such a way the way that it causes great damage to human lungs..
That’s why Coronavirus is different from seasonal flu, or H1N1 or any other type of influenza.... this one is slippery AF. And it’s a lung eater...And, it’s already mutated AGAIN, so that we now have two strains to deal with, strain s, and strain L....which makes it twice as hard to develop a vaccine.
We really have no tools in our shed, with this. History has shown that fast and immediate closings of public places has helped in the past pandemics. Philadelphia and Baltimore were reluctant to close events in 1918 and they were the hardest hit in the US during the Spanish Flu.
Factoid: Henry VIII stayed in his room and allowed no one near him, till the Black Plague passed...(honestly...I understand him so much better now). Just like us, he had no tools in his shed, except social isolation...
And let me end by saying....right now it’s hitting older folks harder... but this genome is so slippery...if it mutates again (and it will). Who is to say, what it will do next.
Be smart folks... acting like you’re unafraid is so not sexy right now.
#flattenthecurve. Stay home folks... and share this to those that just are not catching on.
Don't be a spreader !!

Not totally sure on the maths, but this sums it up pretty well. Every unnecessary interaction we have increases the risk of others getting sick or worse. Even if the 406 is actually 200, the point is the same.
On the numbers being thrown about.
Experts have been clear that left totally unchecked (ie if we just carried on business as usual) over 50% of entire populations could catch it at some point. In the States that would be 150 million people. 20% would require hospital treatment. That's 30 million. Even with a conservative death estimate of 1%, that's 1.5 million deaths. Most of which can be prevented if we distance ourselves from each other for a few months.
Baffles me that anyone would think "the economy" is worth that level of suffering.

Woops Where is Joe? He loves communist governments. You do realise that China has this virus contained. in Wuhan, the place where this all started, they're now only averaging 19 new cases per day. They built a hospital in less than ten days and dodged a catastrophic mortality rate. Nobody has responded better to the outbreak than China. Lmao...they covered it up. Chernobyl ring a bell? Really? Unbelievable. I don't understand why don't you move there? I know you jerk off to Marx . Get it over with .

And I hope people in America start waking up. @!$# China. Buy American if you can. We are way to dependent on them. As time passes this will go down as the most successful hit on our country.
Wake up.

Follows up false and misleading information on Corona with conspiracy theory and a juvenile insult. A valuable contribution once again...

And what do you do for a living? Guessing not much. You had a choice there. Stop posting, post something useful or throw another juvenile insult out there. You're not capable of the first two...

As for our employees, let me start by saying this: We will not make any employee work if they aren’t comfortable doing so. Further, if an employee is sick or needs to take care of their children home from school, we are paying them. Additionally, with our reduced hours and less staff in the stores, we are paying affected employees for their regularly scheduled hours.
We are in a difficult time and find ourselves in uncharted waters. My best wishes to you and your family as we navigate the days ahead together.
