Really enjoyed the course this week. Wind was relatively low throughout the rounds. Green speeds were 144, 163, 144 again, and 187.
A couple of really challenging approaches in there that left me between clubs and most of the time, I made the wrong choice.
R1: I scored well but didn't play too good. I got lucky with a HIO and a long bomb for Eagle on another hole. Started out missing a 5-footer for birdie and then made a par at the first par 5 after a butt-stupid decision. Otherwise, didn't put the ball where I wanted on a lot of holes. But I'll take a -14 any day, so no real complaints. R2: My swing went wonky this round. A bunch of 95% swings. Finally turned off my controller and reset it on the 14th-15th hole. Seemed to help, but maybe just a placebo. Fought back to a -10 which is going to take me out of contention this week I fear. R3: Played my best this round. Had a lot of good approaches and made a few good putts to keep momentum going. -15 R4: I putted best in this round by far, helped out by the 187 green speeds where I'm most comfortable. Had a lot of chips fall too when I missed the greens. -14
Total of -53 which I'm happy with overall. I think one of the newcomer PGA superstars will get to -60 though.
Good luck out there everyone!

Had good runs and dry spells this week. -9 -10 -8 -9 -36 total Just not consistent enough with the flat stick, missed 3 birdie putts under 10 feet in a row after being -5 thru 7 in R3 and was only -3 the rest of the round. Its an improvement over last week though, enjoyed the course too. Contemplating starting a beginner clubs society on PS4 using tough courses with 187 greens where par is a good score. Finally shot under par at Sasquehannock

Played the first round and I was fairly consistent in getting my approach within 13-20 ft. of the hole. On these greens that meant I had plenty of tap-in pars. That also meant I never had any danger of getting a bogey but only managed 5 birdies the whole way to finish with -5. An enjoyable but non-competitive round.

Round 2 felt a lot like round 1 with my approach shots leaving me easy two putts. This time I had an early bogey that took way too long to recover from until I finally caught fire a bit and ended up at -7.

Quick plug for Tough Beginner Club Tour I created a society on PS4 for beginner clubs using 187 greens and VF for firmness with medium wind. 2 round events over 2 days. Most greens will have yellow or red slopes, but par is supposed to be a good score instead of -15. Starts tomorrow and will have 54 events if that is the max you can have in a season. Opening courses are Merion and Elmview.......for those of you who were here season 1 for the US Open it might bring back some good memories. I've created a thread in the Society section so if someone wants to do the same on Xbox or PC they can copy the list of courses I have and the settings. Back to regular BCT programming now with SweetTeeBag telling us about his 1st round

I often play the PGA weekly tournament just to see if I can make the cut (usually no)

It's the first society I've ever made as well so kept bugging Tim for help. Too bad its not like TGC1 where it would translate to any system. All I did was set it to run 2 days per event and did the following: Round 1: Pin set 1, North wind Round 2: Pin set 4, South wind Wind medium on both Very firm green speed Very firm terrain Very firm fairways Think I did 200 to join the society and 250 per event, not that it makes a difference. I put the list of the 18 courses I've entered in on the society thread. Up to you if you want to do it on PC Dan. If you do I think it will let you start it the day you create it and have it run for the 2 days. Hardest thing will probably be getting the right course where there is a few called the same on some of the RCR's, but I've used CLV's and Dave Woods ones for most of those so far.

Played terrible for a -11.
Played lights out for -17.
Made some crazy and insane putts for -15.
Hit the ball well. Still need to adjust for roll out. Had more than a few chip ins. Made some eagles.
Pretty happy so far!
My putting was atrocious in the first round.
Made almost everything in the second.
Made an INSANE 33-footer on 18 in the third. 11 inches down with a double break.
Pretty sure I'm at -43 thru 3. Might be -42, but I'll go with my good memory.
😊😊
Good luck all!

Depends on what Brad Martin does - he got off to a great start. But sitting at -43 with a round to play is pretty comfortable. Just don’t think about it too much. Don’t let it get in your head. Don’t read this reply multiple times and start letting it affect your stroke. The green speeds are different, but don’t think about that. Or maybe think about it. I suggest playing alongside Daniel so you can calm any nerves.....

-5 in my 3rd round and that's all I want to say about that.

Fortunately a double bogey on hole 17 stopped me from posting a third -5 round for the week. Ended up with a fairly mediocre -20 and I just never seemed to get the feel of this course. Didn't hate it or anything but it clearly didn't like me.
