Trying to make dead looking rough. I’ve read that buried trees will create this look but I can’t get it to work. I’ve also read that working with the sculpting creates this look...and I can get that to work very slightly, but with no consistency. Is there a certain way to do this in a way that I can know how to consistently manipulate it?

The buried tree trick works better in some themes than others. What theme are you in?

Highlands works a little bit. But the effect is most dramatic in delta and boreal from what I’ve tried. I haven’t tried it in the fall themes or countryside though

Do be aware that buried trees affect the plant meter just like regular ones, so keep an eye on that.

Delta, Boreal, Autumn, and Countryside are best. I used buried trees to create the footpaths on Simsbury Heath, and I'm using it again on an upcoming contest course.

It still works in Highlands, but may require more trees / bushes than some other themes for a similar effect. I'm pretty sure Rustic is the only theme in which there's no sunken planting rough texture.
