Just finished all 4 of my tournament rounds on this course.. It was a fun course.. and quite challenging.. I like the sloping greens, though some may be a little too much.., but.. that being said, it's a good course for a tourney coz it will separate the field right from round 1. That's why I chose to play this course this week instead of the easier PGA course. I made 3 bogeys and 2 dbl bogeys.. Hole 7 is great.. even though I double bogeyed it.. That tree on the waters edge caught me out, and I landed in the water on my approach shot.. It forced a completely new tactic. Hole 12 though.. Hmmm.. I find it a little unfair.. I did not stick the green once.. even after landing next to the pin.. and only saw two players stick it once.. but even after their birdie attempts, they rolled off into the rough. I tried two different shot types as well.. neither worked. And for some reason, I kept landing left of the pin.. even though I aimed right.. made a video of all 4 attempts if you're interested in seeing them. Otherwise, awesome course. I hope to see more like this one used in the future

Brionne - the shot on 12 is a pitch landing a yard or two short and a bit to the right of the flag. Still though to dial it in, but on the "pro tours" if this game I think it's fair to expect us to be able to handle that shot. Not like the ball is sent into the water on a miss. That would have been borderline unfair.

For the record I actually birdied this second round. PLayed a pitching wedge .. it was 120 and a 4mph wind against, and I delofted it just slightly. Eneded up 7 feet to the right and it held.

That would have been borderline unfair. I hear what you're saying and agree with you to a point.. I tried pitch and normal shots.. Even aimed right of the flag, with 2mph left to right wind.. landed very close (within 2yrds) and it still rolled off the green to the left.. If I have any fair criticism to give, it would be the slope needs to be relaxed a little.. Not taken away, just toned down a smidge.. What constitutes a fair green and pin placement? I would imagine after playing an approach shot the green shape and slope should not be so severe that a decent shot slowing down to a very slow roll within a yard or two either side of the pin, should not roll off the green? Sure it can gather a little speed and roll a few more yards away, but surely not 15-20yrds away?.. Please correct me if I'm wrong.. I'm no expert on golf and the fairness thereof.. I'm also not complaining, coz everyone has to play this hole, and everyone will have teething problems with it.. Canuck asked for feedback, that's my two cents Other than hole 12, I love this course

Brionne - There are no "rules" as to what is fair and not. Only opinions - so not saying I'm right and you are wrong here. I think that having one side of the pin off limits when the approach is just a pitch is fine. It happens IRL as well, but not very often unless it's a competition set up and is usually controversial.
Toning down the slope or rather put the pin a yard to the right might have made it an even better hole - but very hard to balance these short par 4s so that they don't become an instabirdie...
I fell for that 12th hole trap in two of the rounds myself. Too greedy one time and poor execution the other. Stuck one within inches and had one a couple yards to the right.

Wanted to apologize for kind of bashing the course (really only the greens). I was upset with a very poor first round and should have applauded you for creating a course where I could not blindly fire a -10. Great job on the course. Especially after the scores coming in this week, we NEED more courses like Lunenburg and I didnt know it a week ago but now I see its purpose.
