Or Qatar [Redacted] if you like.
Screwed up a bunch of holes in the first round, including putting a 30 foot putt 20 feet long on 6, but had a hole in one on 9 and finished at -10.
Second round started with a birdie, but I left my tee shot on 2 about a foot short and it rolled back off the green. Tee shot on 3 I shanked into a side hill lie by the bunker on the right, tried to hit a wood and it popped up in the air and went about 15 yards, hit another wood and it sliced into the other bunker on the right, left my shot from that bunker way short and left on the green which forced me to hit a flop because my line went through the rough, the flop went off the back, and I double bogeyed. Birdied 4, but 3-putted from 5 feet on 5. Birdied 7 and 8, but pulled my tee shot right on 9, left the chip short and it rolled back off the green, left the putt short, and then missed the 8 foot bogey to go into the back 9 at +1. 3-putted from 13 feet on 11. Left a 43 foot putt 5 inches short on 12. Missed birdie putts on the rest of the back 9.
So -10/+2 for -8 through 2 rounds. Started good but wasted another week like a worthless idiot as usual.

Yeesh, I’m feeling your pain. 4 bogeys over the first 10 holes, can’t remember a stretch that poor for me. Managed to rattle off 6 of 8 birdies on the remaining holes but the damage was done. -4 after day 1. Not gonna be able to recover from that. I’ll get my 2nd round over with later this week but yikes.
I did enjoy the course though. Super challenging but still a fun play. Nothing seemed too over-the-top to make it tough...a few real difficult landing zones but I’ll take that. Really liked the color scheme and lighting too. Guess I can look forward to a relaxing round 2 there now that the pressure to make the cut is gone.
My only complaint was that there was a bit more lag than I remember when I played it in the past. Not sure if it was just me, but the 17th was especially rough.

Played this course a couple times last year in tournaments and never fared very well...a little hesitant to start this week 😬

I saw this course on the schedule and knew this was going to be a tough week, then I saw the conditions and knew it was going to be even tougher.
First round I came out trying to play very smart thinking that -8 was the number to get to to keep myself in the conversation for top 10 again and told myself I wouldn’t take the crazy shots. Just take with the course would give me. Seemed to work as I fired a -11 in the first round.
Rolled right into the second round but those high winds were just brutal. I wasn’t actually playing that bad I was -2 through 4 holes but then on five with the wind pushing towards the water I thought I had a great shot and it just kept carrying and kept carrying in ended up hitting in the rough and bouncing into the water. Had to drop on the other side of the lake and ended up with a double bogey. Battle back with a couple birdies but then gave up another bogey and it was just back-and-forth all day. Finished at -4 for the second round and -15 at the cut. I have no idea where that will be this week with this course being so tough I’d like to think it would make it though.

Putted about as well as I ever have which is crazy because I’m awful. Nailed a couple 40+ and hit every clutch mid range I had and got to -8 despite an awful bogey on 10. Felt pretty good so went right into round 2 and immediately struggled more so with the greens and pin placements then the winds. Had a 10 foot downhill birdie on 2 that I putted barely strong enough for a tap in and it slid by the edge and off the green. I don’t think it’s physically possible to hit it any softer. Chipped in an eagle on the par 5 then another putt off the green for bogey and another 3 putt bogey after that. Finally settled in and clawed my way back to a -6 for -14 at the cut.

Played pretty good outside of missing short putts and watching them roll off the green...happened 3 times across the first two rounds. It’s a bad feeling hitting it to 6 feet for birdie and taking a bogey. Should be safe at the cut at -14 given the PC scores

Much milder conditions at least with wind on the weekend and i played perhaps my worst rounds up here on the Euro this year. My swing lines looked like fish tails and i couldn't hit anything straight...i've never struggled like this before. I think i had 3 birdie putts through the first 14 holes and didn't actually make one until the 14th. Then finally made another on 17 to shoot E in round 3. Same thing through 9 in round 4 and was E again and couldn't get anything going. Lipped out 2 birdie putts and lipped out another 2 birdie chips. FINALLY got my swing under control on the back in round 4 and shot -5 on the last 9. After being borderline top 10 i just crapped it all away. The course is tough enough without me going through my own swing issues. So frustrating...
-8 -6 E -5
-19 total

Man what a tough but fun course. I’m sitting at -12 through two so it might be my first cut in a while. Fingers crossed anyway.
This one feels like a total grind but it’s a rewarding grind. I feel like it rewarded my good shots but penalised my bad ones, which is how a course should play.
Hoping I make the weekend but either way, enjoyed my first two rounds.

About the only positive thing I have to say about this course is thankfully I will miss the cut so I won't have to play the last 2 rounds.

My play was atrocious this week. My worst two rounds of golf that I can remember, sitting at even par through 2.
When this week concludes we’ll be at the halfway point of the season and overall I’ve been thrilled with how it’s went....20/26 cuts, ten top 25s, two top 10s, a big improvement from last season.....but staring at 126th place out of 129 on the leaderboard right now is quite discouraging.

I took a long break and missed the cut the last couple events. I shot a mediocre -4 round 1, but followed up with a -9 on round two. I had 3 or 4 chip ins and had everything go my way. -13, looks promising to make the cut! I haven't had any expectations since coming back. It was a really long break, but this game had become too frustrating to me and I just needed time away. I'm enjoying it again, but I honestly didn't care if I missed every cut and got demoted or not. I just tried to have fun.
