Wouldn’t be surprised Looks like we're 2 short. Does that make us feel better? Second round obviously played a bit easier than the first, it was just my putting got worse. I did miss two short ones in round 2 and in the end that's made the difference. We'll have to all go play Timid Stone to cheer ourselves up Bummer. Yea more rounds on the home course to cure the sadness. Wish I could say putting was my problem but it rarely is. It was tempo that got me like always. More time on the range maybe.

Just don't play enough to get in the 10ft diameter on the greens that you need to score well on this course. Tough one and likely a double dip for me as I just squeaked under par in rd 2
MLB The Show comes out in 2 weeks...which will likely see me hanging up the clubs for good on this game. The novelty has all but worn off
meanwhile...back to NHL 20

Since I missed the cut in the secondary event, it was time to focus on the all important rivalry series. For round three, there was going to be no playing safe, caution was thrown to the wind, I was going to go for everything and, well it did not really work out -4 for round three.

Was having an MRI scan this morning and my mind drifted to the 13th hole (long straight Par 5, river on the left), its an excellent hole, safe or risky shot options from tee to green and the strategy can change depending on wind. However it was the only shot that i got an accidental fast on, i was expecting to land in the bunker in front of the green but ended up in the river on the left. 2 questions out of interest..
1) The ball bounced a couple of times before going in the water but i had to take the penalty drop from where i played the shot. I thought you could play from within two clubs of the point of entry so long as its no closer to the hole ?
2) If Joe reads this... Is the River on the left of the 13th 'natural water' or water you created using the 'surface water' tool ?

My -10 in round 1 was clearly an outlier. Finished up at -22 this week.
It all came down to putting. Not sure how accurate the in-game stats are but I hit more GIR in rounds 3 and 4 than in round 1, but in round 1 I made 50% of 10+ foot putts, which is far more than the 18%, 20%, and 12% in the next 3 rounds.

Looks like -11 is going to be one short. Ah well let’s get stuck into the rivalry. So out I go for rounds 3 and 4...
So Pond went out into the evening and found the hunt easy, birdies a plenty, never in trouble, long and straight, he couldn’t miss, arrived home in double digits. Round 4 arrived and as was the case in his youth, Pond never had trouble getting birdies when there were plenty of chances, but when the Pins are tucked away and he’s starting to get desperate then the birdies don’t come so easy, and Pond has a quiet night in a cold birdieless bed. A missed cut but a few rivalry points - hurrah

I'm going to finish up this week too, despite missing the cut. I've got the time and I like the course even though the greens are kicking my ass. Same story in round 3, played well tee to green but struggled with the flat stick. Got it to -6 but then made two bogies in a row, birdied 18 to get back to -5. -15 thru 3..

Tell you what, our tore has a chance of winning more than just our little cup with that score...... Now that would be something to tell my grandchildren about in 2040! “Can you tell that story again?” Have a feeling it will be a couple short though. A green mark at least!

Slowly losing interest with the tours with all that went on in the forum's last week Don't let that PGA nonsense put you off. It's been the same since TGC1, it's the tour where happiness goes to die. I know, I was in it for more than 2 years. Much more fun round these parts
