Not a fun day in the markets today. Maybe we've reached the top for a while? I am tempted to sell some of my gains the last few months & maybe pick up some VXX volatility options expiring later in November (looking at you FRSTDWN ) I would expect a larger drop coming on Wednesday... and then the vultures will come in and pick up the pieces, raise the market and make a sh%$ load of money

It's there for the taking now. Grab a robinhood account and go all in.

My wife keeps at me to get some shares but I have no idea how to do it. If I know what I want where do I start?

Shares of what?
Online trading is dominated by robinhood since it's free trades.

I think no matter who wins the election, it will send the markets into a full blown panic attack. For how long is the question.

This is true.. but only really matters if you daytrade... I tend to make all of my trades when the market opens or right before it closes.

I tend to make all of my trades when the market opens or right before it closes. I am a long term investor and use ETFs, so I do mine during the middle of the day and daytrading is nowhere near my investing horizon. All good and more power to ya if you like Robinhood and haven't had any issues, though.

Stock market futures looks like it's for Trump.
I was amazed today to be honest but it can change on a dime.

I think no matter who wins the election, it will send the markets into a full blown panic attack. For how long is the question. I need to pull a Costanza and invest opposite of what I think will happen.
