I have to agree with the sentiment provided here that the game has reached its maturity. The game, for me, has lost its 'fun' factor. There are weeks I don't even play because I can't be bothered and I certainly don't practice like I used to. Some of that is my new VR business but most is that I just don't find it so much fun.

I guess if the game forced you to swing straight as intended and these guys say they can't do that they would have just quit the game? Probably not but would be on a lower tour. I am a firm believer we should all switch to beginner clubs. It would fix this and give Xbox players a fighting chance OK, now because of all of this I've clearly missed some stuff. First off, I'm sorry I don't know but what is the exploit with the intentional pushing and pulling? Does that somehow give you an unfair advantage. Anyway, all that being said. Good luck to everyone this week! Shoot them low boys! Hey Killah, if you don't have time to read the whole thread, here's the most important post. tgctours.proboards.com/post/513706/thread

I am a firm believer we should all switch to beginner clubs. It would fix this and give Xbox players a fighting chance Hey PGA guys! Sorry I've been out of the forums for a bit. I had a pretty back whack to the head in a basketball game and got a concussion. Been playing recently but not well. Then most recently had a kid that's been sick for a few days and now my other kid is sick as well. It's been a load of fun at my house lol. OK, now because of all of this I've clearly missed some stuff. First off, I'm sorry I don't know but what is the exploit with the intentional pushing and pulling? Does that somehow give you an unfair advantage. I mean I push and pull shots, not intentionally, but I don't always push it up and down perfectly straight. I try to, just doesn't work out, I'm not that consistent lol. However when I miss that straight line, my shots don't get better, that's for sure lol. Also, in defense of Adam, he was an XB1 player for a while and one of the best of them. I know he has a natural push to his shot and he's always played to that. He got the game on PC so that he could work on course design and then played it on there and noticed a huge difference with his tempo. Now that he has a more consistent tempo, he's shooting up the leaderboards, but even before that on XB1 he was the #2 guy for a long time as well. I'd have to say I don't think he's intentionally trying to game the system. But I'm curious about how the pushing and pulling helps just for my knowledge. My game is a little all over the place at the moment sadly. I'm working on trying to find a level of consistency again. Funny enough, I played the Euro event last week to try to work on my game and I shot -57 lol. I would have won the tournament if I was on Euro. So I know I can play with some consistency if I can get everything under control. Hopefully I'll be back playing well again soon. Came in T27 in the WGC event last week, so we'll see if I can build off of that. As far as your suggestion for Beginner clubs SweetTeeBag , I don't know that it'll work because I think that most people would lose interest if you had to use beginner clubs. I mean probably mostly the PS4 and PC guys. I still am holding on to the fact that I believe XB1 guys can compete and maybe it's a little tougher, but I want to try to do it for the XB1 guys. Adam left us so he's dead to us! Ha just kidding, he's a really nice dude actually and really loves the game. Anyway, all that being said. Good luck to everyone this week! Shoot them low boys! Welcome back Brandon. Seems like you’ve been kept pretty busy! Hopefully the concussion has no long term effects, and kids... if it’s not one thing it’s another with them, I well know. Pushing shots to the edge or past the edge of the cone essentially reduces the dispersion possible versus playing for a shot that is straight - exclusive of being a one way miss, which is totally fine and not even part of the issue. To add, when you fully loft, the dispersion is exponentially tighter again than can be achieved with a “straight” swing. Some people have been playing this way, Adam and many others, and have completely unknowingly been playing with a considerable advantage as noted above. No problem with that. Many people would have it that “pitch forks are out” over this, and that “thick skulled” individuals are out to get them but they certainly isn’t the case from me. It’s just good that this has been recognised and proven beyond any reasonable doubt. The push/pull thread is a good read, if that sort of thing floats your boat. Sadly it’s another broken game mechanic ala flicking, but not as easy to do. Hopefully it gets fixed for the next game.

I play straight up. I adapted after one pull. Interesting reading on those that have villified the short swingers are now okay with playing a different exploit. ? I would post the link, but I am of the belief that encouraging that thread only spreads the use of this exploit even more. The thread should not only be locked, but removed completely.

Wow, well I somehow had no clue about this new exploit.
I also didn’t have a clue about straight swinging for a really long time.
Makes me feel a bit better I guess that I’ve managed to stay somewhere in the vicinity of the top for multiple years on this game while just swinging the stick back and then forward like a normal person every round.
It’s funny though and shows TGC is no different than other sports games. I play MLB 2K and Madden competitively. Thankfully MLB is pretty hard to exploit in any way. But with 2K and Madden you’re always either trying to find the cheesy/glitchy animation or blitz playcall that can’t be stopped due to a fault in the game. TGC appears to be no different lately. I always hoped with playing golf and everyone being fans of golf that it’s a game of integrity and fair play. But I was obviously being delusional. Rarely noticed things like this on TGC1. Whether that’s because the game was more solidly build or because we had a more purist player base before the tours spread is up for everyone to decide lol.

I think I'll be fine, just had me down and out for a few days, and hopefully the kids are on the mend. We'll bounce back. I actually did take the time to sit and read the whole forum in the clubhouse because it's not fair to everyone and to myself to make a comment on it if I can't take the time to really check out all of the facts. And big shoutout to materialization for the work he did to actually give some visual representation of the dispersion of shots. First off, let me say that I believe in no way shape or form that Z3NZ is trying to game the system as he was the one that started that forum and also I've watched him play for long before he moved to PC as us XB1 guys try to stick together lol. Great dude and I also agree that anyone should check out his videos to help your swing if you're looking for some aid from a top player. He has played that push swing for as long as I've seen him play. Now that being said, it does appear that the "push/pull" swing could potentially give an advantage to those that use it. Particularly it seems to eliminate some of the variation in the fully lofted shots which can be quite a tough shot for most. I don't know for sure that I consider this one on the same level as flicking, but it is advantageous for those that are able to make it work for them. I personally don't do it and won't try to learn to do it (intentionally, I don't always hit a perfectly straight line, that's for sure, but it's accidental lol) just because the work that I've put in on working to create a straight line swing and trying to make sure that I'm able to compete on the highest level. Many folks think that XB1 folks have no chance of winning on the PGA tour. Adam (Z3NZ) and I have had conversations thru Twitch about believing that an XB1 guy actually can win on tour and while it would take a huge effort and a lot of things to go our way, it can be done. I know that he's switched to PC and there's no ill will towards him on that because he enjoys the game more now and isn't getting bombarded with some of the same tempo issues that XB1 get. I completely understand that. I've seen a lot of discussion both ways. Some think it's cheating or exploitation, some think it's part of the game and can be used without issue, and some are somewhere in between those extremes. I know that there is no correct answer and that not everyone will be pleased with the outcome regardless of whatever it is. It is my belief (without any knowledge of the creators or designers of the game) that they wanted folks to try to hit the straight blue line to get the best results as possible. Otherwise, why would that line even be there? I think that is the "intent" of the game. Flicking, and to a lesser degree the push swing, are a way around that. However, we've seen that flicking gets picked up pretty well by the API and is something that doesn't need to be part of the game. The reason I don't see the push swing on the same level is because as this is supposed to be a "real-life simulation" or as close to one as you can, people do line up to their ball to play for a push or a pull in real life. I personally aim a little right of where I want to hit and it and play to pull the ball a bit. So I mean that seems like a real-life situation for me. I don't know what that means for this game and I'm not saying that my opinion holds a ton of water as I'm just one guy. All of that being said, and hopefully I came across some what articulately, I believe that this isn't on the same level as flicking at all but it is proven to give some advantage. I'll still play the game the way that I do now trying to hit those full line straight swings as best that I can. Keep playing well everyone!

It has been a bit since I played this course. It is one of those deceptive courses that looks like it should be relatively simple, big fairways and big greens. For some reason getting the ball close seems more difficult and of course the greens are quite tricky with few consistent breaks. On a 15 foot putt i could have 5 different speeds of bubs. Not impossible but more difficult. On the front nine alone I burned the edges on over half the holes. So if your putting is good, go low like Virt. I think it will be a big challenge for me to even make the cut.
In other news, had my own stint in the hospital. Somewhere I picked up a bug that caused severe vomiting & diarrhea. After about 10 hours of this non-stop, wife called the ambulance. I was severely dehydrated and was suffering from ketoacidosis (where the ketones in your blood literally turns your blood into acid). Spent two days in the ER getting 30+ liters of fluids pumped back into my body. At least the pain medication was awesome! It is one of those reasons I sucked so badly coming back with my last two rounds last week.

Only here for 1 comment at the moment - I’m a killahbeaz132 fan. Really cool to see nice, logical, informed, smart folks around here. Not that he’s only just showed up, but it’s something I’ve noticed over his posts here through our time in PGA, and the post above just made me want to commend that line of thinking and interaction with a friendly community. Just want to thank everyone for the good times around these parts. It's official, I am off to BCT where the competition I believe is the most fair for it's swing and plays almost the same on all 3 platforms. I will stop in from time to time to see how things are going for sure.
Best of luck to you all. Cheers

Watch Z3NZ gameplay and you will see that 95% or more of his shots are still within the lines. Just because he has a 1 way miss, which any real golfer or golfer in a video game would like to have doesnt make it an exploit. If you guys think it is, you can adopt it and see if you shoot a -62. Good luck

It was posted cause he was accused of "exploiting" and how is it even bad in the first place? I would rather know if im gonna miss im gonna miss right then not know if its going left or right. Still takes hundred of hours to perfect. Like I said other people can attempt it but I bet they will not be able to shoot the scores he is shooting.
