Welcome to the Swiss mountains! Hallstatt North Golf Club, created for the World Cup of Design, was carved into the rocky terrain just above a quaint little fishing village inhabited by no more than ten residents year round. Golfers arriving at the clubhouse for a round will be at the highest point on the course when they step on the first tee. For the remainder of the day, they will traverse elevation changes totaling over 500’ between the top and bottom of the plot. Thankfully, you are not expected to walk, as the designer has taken the extra time to put in a cart path for you. There is one key to playing this course: don’t go over the edge! Most areas that would be immediately detrimental are marked as OB, but there are still other areas where you will have to make a choice. My best advice is to be reasonable... if you don’t think you can get out in one try, just take the unplayable lie and go back to the original spot. Yes, it’s like an OB penalty, but it will probably be the smarter play in the end, because you CAN get stuck in some bad areas (but hey, you hit it there!). I genuinely hope you enjoy the course. Those of you that hit fairways and greens will score very well here, but those that suffer big mistakes will pay in the currency of red numbers. Best of luck to everyone!

Am I correct I thinking last week's movement points haven't been changed yet? I was on two demotion points last week, made the cut, and still on two, as of right now...

Had a lot of fun playing my first two rounds. This course is awesome, the elevation shifts lead to a lot of interesting shots. The planting is phenomenal. Loved it.
With that being said I was quite frustrated with how things shook out for me. I felt like I was playing well but my putter was falling just short. Countless tap in pars after many potential birdies came to rest right on the edge of the hole. Two eagle putts just missed and two near hole-in-ones also.
Finished -19 after two but I really felt it could have been significantly better.
We’ll see where the cut ends up but not I’m not feeling super confident. The course itself is tougher than last week but the conditions(through 2) are tame. Good luck out there everyone.

Solid yet somewhat disappointing round one of -10.
Beautiful downhill eagle on 17 leads to a shank into the bunker below the bridge on the short par 4 18.
Managed to flop it onto the green and salvage a par after a missed lag putt by an inch.
I love this course.

Great course, very enjoyable. 59,60 for -25 at half way. played well but left 2 shots out there, and no very fasts or very slows, happy days

Seems like I'm the only one struggling to score here. -7 in round 1. Looks like I'll need a solid round 2 to see the weekend. Love the course. Every shot needs thought and execution. Just not executing so far.

Started out OK, was -4 through 5, then 3-putted 6 by lipping out a 9 foot par. Lipped out a 30 foot birdie on 7 after a slow downswing on the approach. Missed a 10 foot birdie on 8. Shanked my drive on 14 and it bounced backwards into the water and bogeyed. Lipped out a 10 foot birdie on 15. Finished birdie-birdie-eagle to get to -10. Too many lip-outs as usual.
Second round went OK for a while, -6 through 12. Drive on 13 barely made it across the the fairway but got a good roll. Second shot came up about a foot short of clearing the bunker. Bunker shot was way short, ended up rolling back off the green. Chip with a pitching wedge rolled out 25 yards off the back of the green, finished with a bogey. Lipped out a 6 foot birdie on 16. Ended up shooting -9, -19 through 2 rounds.

Overall played pretty well through 2...sitting at -22. 3 putted from 8 feet on one hole and got into some tough spots, but ended up making a clean recovery. Great course and happy that it looks like I'll get two more rounds here. Thanks Eric for the course and Curtis for the pick.

Wow...someone spent a 100+ hrs designing this course. Pretty incredible. 8th hole is terrific. Favorited.

Beautiful course and a lot of fun to play so far. But this type of course is just inherently tough on my game. I don’t do well at all with extreme elevation. Not so much hitting down but hitting into crazy elevation.
Shot -8, -8 for -16 at the cut. I imagine that’s not making the cut this week. 2 swings killed me. One slow downswing sent my shot off the deep end on 10 and I should have dropped because it took a few swings to get back up. Then I had a very fast swing into the water on another hole. Dropped 4 shots on those 2 holes.

Just got back from Vaca and missed last week, but after playing this course I feel like I’m back on vacation... just an awesome track VctryLnSprts Was a bit nervous after going -4 through my first 9 but really turned it around on the back, ending birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie (missed the eagle on 18 by a dimple) resulting in -12 for the first round. Started off slow in the second round but rattled off 6 straight birdies for a -6 front and followed it up with a mediocre -3 back. -21 at the cut. Can’t say enough great things about this course. Elevation makes it interesting but not impossible with the tame conditions. I can only imagine the beast this turns into with the settings cranked up.

Another likely miss cut for me at -17 currently. Positive signs this week but I still feel uncomfortable atm especially on the greens. I used to hole so many great putts and never 3-putt but I literally can’t hole a thing anymore. I think it’s in my head.
I played the weekend rounds just because I was bored today and I had a hole which was 5 over par and the next round one 6 over. Too many weird mistakes that I’ve never made before until the last few weeks.
Still, I’ll keep trying. I won’t lose any marks this week which is one positive. Time to get back to my cut making ways next week, I hope.

As of next week, I will have a clean record again! 👏
4 marks cleared in about 6 weeks, or something like that...
(Bloody annoying week for me though- -15 first round, followed by -4 second round!)
