I finally finished a course I've been working on. Its nothing fantastic, but it plays very well. I did a few ages ago and they pretty much went unnoticed, including a real course that I spent a lot of time on, the only plays it got were from me. Granted it was only a public muni course, but it was fairly accurate right down to the vegetation. So I should probably take pictures first, but after that whats next ? I'm not sure of a name, but I was thinking of Duncan's Folly. I think I have a pretty good story behind it as well, just have to wait and see what happens.

Pictures in a completed courses thread always help.
Be sure and also submit the course to the database if you haven’t done that already.
Bump the thread like a mad man? Profit.

Yes. There is no shame in self bumping. Even well known designers do it. Cough.... Eric.... Cough.

I will add it's just tough in general to get your local public RCR a lot of attention because it won't be known to many/any players here

In addition to ^ Join a Society that is new Designer friendly. Then put a message on the Society Message Board of your new completed course. The Admin of that Society may then schedule your course for a tournament.
Also- keep in mind that bc a local course is important to you, it may not spark interest from the general public. Especially since the Completed Course thread is riddled with ridiculously good courses right now. I do course reviews for a Society, and frankly the number of good courses being released on a weekly basis is greater than the rate I am able to play and review them.

I realize that about the public courses in general. So it looks like make a course that is important to you and then If its good enough , others might just play it. That makes perfect sense as well.

Make a name for yourself by playing and commenting on other course threads. Get involved in twitch design channels. Be involved in twitch channels for players, and if they're just playing 'random courses' suggest yours. Do that and people will return the favor and take notice when you publish a course too.

A good suggestion that I already partake in.I always try and let a designer know If there course is good, and also any suggestions for them. lately though the courses are so good, theres really not that much to say.

And change your forum pic from the default TGC Tours one. People will start recognizing your posts by your picture as it stands out more than your name.

Some good advice in here, but in all honesty outside of the tours and design contests there just isn't much interest in the game any more so the quote above is the best attitude to take.

Give a follow to Avakrac and jimgem - both of these guys do course playthroughs on stream and do very good jobs with the course videos they put together.. This should give your course some exposure.. Good Luck with your designs !!

Hi Avakrac.
In my humble and somewhat biased opinion, The Swiss Wall is under played (unless the HB counters have stopped working again). It's TGC Tours approved but hasn't reached 100 plays. Will you be so kind as to give that the video treatment?
If you play - the tee shot on the 2nd is a "marmite" shot - you'll either love it or hate it. If you hate it, don't let it put you off the rest of the course as it is the only one like it on the course.
