Why did we stop playing RCR's? Would have been a nice change to play PGA West, Torrey pines, Scottsdale and pebble and Riviera over the next 5 weeks. I would rather shoot low on those courses rather than play the courses we are currently playing and still guys are shooting-60. Sick of playing sh%$ courses π

Wrong par for the scores on the leaderboard this week or am I mistaken? Doyley Yeah the course is Par 71 on the database.
I am guessing No 15 should have been a Par 4?

Well, i started off as expected ... leaving Rawesy behind me - surprisingly by only one stroke (-15). Then my probably system stuttered .... and i am on PC ... and i don't flick ... and i am shi$%$Β§ttt !!! And i finished off as always: mediocre at best -10 -12 -7 -44 overall. Have beaten Rob by a stroke again - so this is that. Nice rivalry Rob. Step it up man !!

-8 and -13 to sit -21 after two. Will be one or two short methinks.
First 6 holes got me in both rounds. Certainly didn't help that I 3-jacked from 7 feet on the very first hole of the tournament. I think that got me a bit unhinged for most of the front nine.
R1: Even through 6, then -8 over the next 12 holes R2: -3 through 6, then -10 over the next 12 holes
Back to reality after a Top 50 last week.
Good luck to all yet to play and to those with rounds still to finish!!

Guess which 5 courses we have scheduled? Why arenβt you the PGA scheduler?

Guess which 5 courses we have scheduled? Why arenβt you the PGA scheduler? I mean, I am "defending" my one win up here this week. That is, of course, laughable considering my game right now.
But I "won" while playing the RCR of PGA West.
So I understand the current scheduler leans towards original creations. No problem there.
But... this one seems quite ideal to replace the Scottsdale event a couple of weeks from now, even from my lazy mans eye. I have no problem with this course, it just replaced the wrong event is all.
Edit: I would never want the job to schedule courses on this tour and understand the ridicule is crazy because as Abe said: βYou can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.β
Having thick skin is probably the #1 requirement to do this.
But (but!, butt!!!) I also understand that PGA West has the designer taking some "liberties" on the greens as that is that persons' thing. I can see why this one is excluded. Torrey Pines has that weird water thing on #18 and maybe that is why it was excluded. Other RCRs may have things that the specific RCR we have available has excluded it in the schedulers eyes. But! (BUTT again!)
Consider that even good original courses have "issues" as well, even when they play well. A RCR plays well naturally for the most part when done reasonably well and most things take care of itself.
TGCTours owes its longevity towards the designer community and the fact that we have a designer tool available for our gifted folks that give us courses.
My only thing is that among 10 or so tours/tiers available, we should have more RCRs available at the tour that is called PGA. For those that did not qualify for the Presidents Cup or the TOC event, they have barely played an actual "PGA" event that matched the actual IRL PGA event. I understand that it is not available sometimes and that is perfectly understandable. But getting into the swing here where we are playing a bit more well known courses you would think that we would play them more frequently.
*off my little soapbox*
Sorry for calling you out on this coruler2 but my TLDR is that I think we need a bit more RCR representation. I also reiterate that I would never want your scheduling job, so take it with a grain of salt.

What a horrible thought - having to schedule courses for you (us) lot!!!!!
Get back to playing TST Mitch - I know you've played semi-regularly before

I would love too play more rcrs too bob but big problem is the hb ones are all messed up and they give you funky green reads. ie says a putt is downhill and you look at beads and they are opposite and vice versa. Also although there are loads of good rcrs there are also a hell of a lot of really bad ones. People bash an rcr lidar course out in a couple of weeks and just dont finish them properly ie really poorly erratically sculpted fairways bunkers and greens. The ones that are done well play amazing but lidar isnt 100% bob on alot of the time you just get sharp straight putt lines that play really bad. I played a course called saxondale yesterday and it is awesome. It plays well has a good mix of shots and the designer has really took his time in making sure the sculpting and look is really good. Looks like an rcr but im guessing its a fictional. Alot of the designers warrant being on tour instead of the rcrs as the quality is sub standard. I just wish that the courses were picked with that weeks rcr in mind. For example if its a desert course pick a good desert course etc. I think alot of the courses picked on the euro are better quality than those that get picked for pga. I think they just get picked cos they're tricked up most the time!

Don't think we should automatically play RCR's up here, but it seems weird to me that PGA West (a challenging RCR) isn't selected whilst Pebble (which is as easy as it comes) is, given that we are constantly told the reason for all the gimmicky stuff we see is to provide a challenge...

Steve 2 G's pga west is dog toffee tho tbh. Theres challenging and theres cack! Pebble is a nice play tho. I get its fairly easy but if the winds up and greens like any course it can course trouble. Id much rather see high and v.high winds. The pros play in gusts of 10mph + every week pretty much so why not.

Round 1 in at -17. ππ
Hit the ball well. ππ
Made a BUNCH of benders. ππ
Lipped an eagle on a Par 5. ππ
Only putt I felt I should've made and didn't was on 18. ππ
Round 2 in at -20! π²π²
Had 11 birdies in a row to start. ππ
Followed that up with a 1 bounce 9 iron for eagle. ππ
Eagled the hole after that for good measure. ππ
Made 1 lone par on 16. π¬π¬
That pin was TERRIBLE! π π
My putt was from 94 feet and got lucky it made it up the slope. ππ
Made a 12 footer to save it. ππ
Almost bounced it in on 18 also. ππ
-37 at the cut! ππ
Hope I can continue what I started! ππ
Good luck all! ππ
