Really enjoyed this course! Planting was awesome per usual. My favorite hole was #18; even though I butchered it both times I played it. Anyways, good luck in the competition!

Love the embrace of the short par 4 and the fallaway green (a-la hole 9). Love how those short, half-par holes play uphill and the long 4s and 5s play downhill, a very Doak-esque feature that I love. A ton of angles - I could play each hole 15 times and never play it the same way. Definitely one of your best and one of my favorite sets of greens in your entire portfolio. A very intelligent design & a beauty.

To prove it, the best compliment I can give your course is my 8yr old was watching me play it...
"DAD! GO OUT TO THE LIGHTHOUSE!"
"Nah, there's nothing out there too far away..."
"JUST GO!...LOOK! A HELICOPTER AREA! A BRIDGE!"

Since all the cool kids are doing it....a subtle bump  Despite not making it through to the next round, I still think you'll enjoy Avery. The reviews are in! " Generally well put together, but not stunning" - Judge 1 " Poor in spots from a technical standpoint" - Judge 1 " Autogen edge sculpting wasn't removed" - Judge 1  Anyway, nothing I can do but laugh. My course deserved alot better in my opinion. I've also noticed Avery is starting to get crankier during the day and it started on Monday. Strange..... |

If I had to venture a guess.... they might mean when you lay down a fairway spline and sometimes the game slightly autosculpts the fariway to make it smoother so the edges look kind of weird next to the unsculpted surrounding land??

Hmm, maybe. I always smooth those spots out, so maybe I missed some? This judge watched all my streams and pointed out every minor flaw compared to the other course (based on the review), so he probably caught more things than I did.
