With Christmas nearly upon us, I thought I would give your my fellow kornholers a early present and take you all away to the beach for a couple of weeks, away from the cold, grey weather, away from the hordes of zombie like Christmas shoppers. And where better to escape to but the Bahamas for a couple of weeks. Our first course on our Bahamas adventure is Royal Bahiir by golfwolfuk , a course that finished second in the recent rookie design contest. Anyone that has played the courses from that contest will know the quality that was produced so for Jamie to finish second is a major achievement. The future is bright for many of the designers from that contest, so don your best pair of shorts, your coolest pair of shorts and enjoy the fantastic Royal Bahiir.

Hi all,
Fantastic course but my putter could not handle the greens in round 1; -2 as result of four (!) bogies - all the result of three-putts. Guess I know what I need to improve to have any chance of staying here ... 😂
Best wishes Frans

Second round: -6
Red thingies coming my way, I guess.
Out to buy a new putter!!! 😊

Played 1st round and through hole 16 inn 2nd.
1st round: +1.... 2nd through 16: -10
That’s consistency. Nerves, I guess.

Second start, second attempt at making the cut (missed by 2 so no demos).
Nice start (-3 thru 4) then Humphs on 5 and 8 made it -1 at the turn and looking really really REALLY bad.
Rally on the inward half, clean card with 6 chirpies. -7 after 18 holes.
Onward!

Stunning course this week!
1st round was a round of misses. Had a couple of head scratching breaks on the 187 greens. Missed a lot of putts, made nothing. Scored -4
2nd round, enjoyed the 163 greens a lot more and the course suddenly became an instant favourate. Had a couple very slow downswings which no doubt hurt the scoring a bit but putting became fun. Scored -10.
Twiddling my thumbs waiting to see where the cut line will be.

Hi fellow Kornstars,
a lot of work unfortunately, so not much time to write my report. Beautiful course, but well above my capabilities unfortunately. I had a very hard time in both rounds. Started with an E, followed by a -6 (I think), which qualifies me for... um... another missed cut, maybe accompanied by a demo mark (don't know if I ordered the missed cut in time, on QVC it said "buy a missed cut right now and get a demo mark for free").
See you next week!

I'm through 2 rounds. Played well on the front 9 in both and reached the turn at -5 both times. First round had a couple of infuriating bogies at 13 and 15. 13 I hit one of those moving 4 footers a bit too hard and lipped it, 15 I played an awful chip from the green edge and didn't get up and down. Thankfully 14 was the meat in that bogey sandwich....
Second round I felt were much easier conditions but got on the par train after a disappointing par at the par 5 9th, kept just sliding past the edge. Didn't make another bird until 15 but 2 more at 17 and 18 for a nice finish.
64 and 63 for -15 at the cut, pretty hopeful that's two in a row but not counting chickens.
Very nice course, particularly the greens. My only criticism is a lot of the drives are very similar - they all seem to play down hill to pinched driving zones. But I enjoyed my rounds and it's certainly a good challenge 👍
I've also never been punished more for not carrying a GW! Might have to swap my bag about for the last two if I make it..

1st hole in Rd 1 scared the bejesus out of me. 18ft / 4in downhill for birdie and I had a 30 something footer for par back up the hill (which I missed). Was a bit more careful on the greens after that and went -5. -10 in Rd2 so -15 at the halfway. Then -10, -8 for a -33 total. Just missed a green mark last week....prob nowhere near one this week but happy to be in the 30's again. Good luck all.

Played this course after the Design contest, loved it then and love it now. There's always another option and the greens have slopes but you get rewarded for a good shot. Swinging the stick between the blue cone this week, which surprise surprise seems to result in a good score. Will be around for the weekend, whoop whoop

Round 2 was a let down. Goal was to have a clean card, and managed that outward for a -2 which is one shot better than the first round.
Birdied 11, but nothing else and I started to press late. Doubled 15, and my dreams are dashed again this week. Consolation birds on that last two got me to -3 for the round, -10 at the cut.
Not looking good for the weekend, which will please Mrs. Vandelay as we have holiday stuff to do.
Like the course enough.
Onward!
