Grinding out those just utterly lovely conditions in the final 2 rounds was...well, it is what it is. First 2 rounds were fine, 3rd round wasn't "fun" but it was just 1 round so I didn't get wound up about it, but round4 just wasn't very enjoyable. In sum, the vf/vf/vf virus strikes again, further complimented by those strong winds in round4.
In my very humble opinion, round4's conditions ruined a lot of the potential enjoyment of the layout - which has some mickey mouse holes, wasn't my favorite by any means but was perfectly OK for a "change up" here, this is a video game, so as long as it's not too ridiculous then OK - which I thought was unfortunate. The pin on 6, for example, with those settings...come'on. Think I putted the ball off the green 4 or 5 times while trying to tap it down a slope, or down a tier, toward the pin. "Well get gud'er, hit it closer...etc" I know, but IMO it shouldn't be impossible to hold the green on a putt within 30-40ft multiple times throughout a round, especially when the shot required to setup that putt which can stay on the green is far from a gimme. Anyway, nothing crazy or the end of the world, just my 2cents of feedback, fwiw.
At least I didn't outright lose to Virt this week...damn tie, though

At least I didn't outright lose to Virt this week...damn tie, though The course on default would be tolerable. It’s quirky and tricky. I posted 3 videos of why it’s so stupid in R4. The par3 - my ball had no business rolling 100 feet back to that tier. The par5 18 where it rolls down a hill 50 yards? Is it that hard to make a course selection and setup play halfway enjoyable and realistic?

Rather than write a big summary of why the PGA has gone down hill the past several months, I'll just leave a few replays to illustrate the silliness. I guess I'm still flabbergasted by the seemingly lack of effort (or intended effort to make things not enjoyable). For an entity solely dependent on donations, this can't be helping the cause - at least at the highest level. My guess is the people that enjoy this setup the most are also on the API's Top10 list... Just watched your videos
I don't understand the point of your videos - is it the course that's silly or the setup of conditions? Nothing I see there is gasp worthy.
PS, hitting driver off the deck on a severe upslope is not a reason to blame a course - that's a pretty low trajectory shot

Any ball is going to roll back down the hill. The VF^4 conditions make it worse. Just let it ride. It ruins designers work.

Rolling down that hill is on purpose. Trying for the green by carrying the mound to its front-left is a pretty risky play, and you should be punished for messing up.
Some of the holes would really be tough with firm greens - 5, 6, and 17 come to mind, perhaps 8.
The course's overall theme is that there is an obvious, heavy penalty should you miss in one direction, perhaps encouraging players to play safe on occasion. That's why the course is only 6750 yards long.
I wonder how many players played the 6th the way I do.

I’ve played thousands of holes and I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had a ball roll backwards 50 yards. Going for it or not the fact the design permits that is what’s silly but clearly silly is the goal. Participation continues to fall as a lot of mainstays leave but you’ll just make promotion events to respawn the fields like a first person shooter and bad guys. I’ve lost hope on how to give actual feedback because there’s always a justification for why it’s appropriate.

I take the feedback in and always process it - which is exactly why I watched your videos and played the R4 conditions. That said, there are many different opinions on how things should be - and also remember that the schedules are built out a month in advance so change doesn't exactly happen immediately. It's easy to overlook the OK when the focus is on things that cause upset feelings which makes it feel like it's 95% bad when it really isn't. You guys have a couple of easier courses on the horizon - I'll be looking forward to the guys that are content now posting about how they want it tougher - give a few of you a break at least

It’s not so much easy vs hard. It’s more realistic vs fictional.
I’m not saying I want to score higher. I just don’t find it realistic when a yard or two offline is the difference between a fairway hit or a ricochet off a sidehill cliff for a snowman.

So I suggest you take a poll, find out what are the 10 favourite courses and we just play them on a rotating basis, but don't forget then a secondary poll to find out what the conditions should be. Oh and we'll need a really big forum topic so we can endlessly debate it for a month, over 200 pages or so. Make it so!
