Hey. Just wanna say good luck guys. I’m working literally every day from now until I break up for Christmas, so I need the rest and won’t be setting an alarm, my shout... marlette beats Bahiir in the final...

My standard question to double check... Is this 3am GMT then? (i.e. at the moment, would it be 2pm EST?)

I’m working literally every day from now until I break up for Christmas, so I need the rest and won’t be setting an alarm, my shout... marlette beats Bahiir in the final... We shall see pal. I'm going to set an alarm and just kill myself ahead of work tomorrow. It'll be the first and only final four I make in a long time, so I'm going to try to enjoy it

Congrats Ben. This was never in doubt, not only from the day you published Marlette but from the day you entered the contest. The best course -- by a country mile--won in the end. Tx once again to the judges, fellow contestants and streamers who promoted this contest and its courses... Congrats too to Patrick on a well run contest... Jamie, Ben you had your deserved spots in the final.. but at least you guys lost when it mattered most #RWC. Until I decide to enter another contest......Cya folks

Thank you all - Jamie, I didn't want to post until I knew you'd seen it, but congrats on making it to the final and for a real push toward the end. I already see you knocking me out of the World Cup and it's clear you're progressing at a crazy speed, so really look forward to seeing what you do. junyuh as well - you came out with a great looking course with some of the best holes in the contest. Also excited to see what you produce for the World Cup. It's been a fantastic contest throughout and I know we'll see loads of great things from this group. What's really cool to see is how many people have made massive leaps from the feedback that they wouldn't have got if they didn't enter: I've seen quality WIP work from Oscar C , cplampman , Lifeonaboard , golfwolfuk , 15eicheltower9 and so many others that I'll forget to name (sorry!). I've definitely taken lots from the judging, but what impresses/scares me is that there are others who have immediately improved way more than I have - that's what this contest is all about and it's definitely given the community some names to watch for. Beyond that, the vast majority of this group was just awesome to be involved with - loads of action in others' WIP threads, positive and useful suggestions, playing each others betas and just getting it spot on. That part before the releases is the part of contests I love the most and thank you for helping make it so good. Now that we're done and dusted: Marlette was a PITA to build. I have a proper love/hate relationship with it as I ripped up so many holes to start over and I think I redid the plot and routing twice whilst building it. I'm proud of how it came out, but damn it was a slog at points. Just goes to show - don't ever believe everything you see in WIP threads; this was far from plain sailing, even if it looked pretty Final thing: I'm hoping I'll be involved in some capacity with the Dream Team Contest that Trayys is running next year. I'd highly recommend some of you guys give that a go: there's a collaborative team element that would neatly bridge the gap from Rookie to other contests and many of the very heavy hitters didn't enter last year. I know a number of you would do really well there. Equally, worth contacting CiB0RG if you're in any way interested in judging the World Cup. I cannot recommend judging highly enough as a way to really understand what good hole/course design is and get to chat with others who are critiquing courses - you get brilliant insight and judging Dream Team certainly helped me know what I was targeting here. P.S. I have a shiny new badge. Woopa! On to the World Cup and to crush a dream. reebdoog pablo Generic_Casual - hope you're watching closely!

Congratulations Ben. Your course grew on me and is a worthy winner, I’m sure you’ll go on and do the crown proud in your future designs.
Well done to everyone that published a course, it’s not easy and not easy. Huge thank you to erixonstone for all the work you’ve put in and the judges for the hours of play throughs.
Good luck to everyone

Apologies for missing the stream last night as I was away on work and certainly would have joined in if I could. Congrats to all of the final four and a big congrats to Ben, who was a very well-deserved winner.
I think the final four courses set themselves apart visually from the the rest of the courses in this contest but, what ultimately won Ben the title -- at least in my book -- is he had the best combination of looks AND playabilty, which will serve him well in future contests. His course was visually stimulating from the opening tee shot, but also mentally engaging as I had to think about angles and positioning the entire round. It was the best of both worlds.
Well done to all the contestants in this contest and I eagerly await to see what all of you do for an encore! Again, if you haven't already and are interested, please PM me and I'll be happy to provide my judging notes on your course.
